For those that would like to relive a lot of memories of the '70's-'90's (especially) through the eyes of Doug Wolfgang, Lanman has just put out a great, thorough interview with Doug:

https://youtu.be/I_oCaTt8P5Y?si=Pyt9dEaqjAgVZspw

I especially liked reliving the Darryl Dawley beginnings and can still remember him backing it in the corner for the first time he came to Jackson Speedway back in the mid-70's.

It's a long interview, but his is a long story, and I'm glad they both took the time to tell it with detail.

This was really good.  I love how Doug just has those numbers of features he won and rattles them off like he's dictating a Wikipedia entry.

Wolfie is the absolute MAN!

A must watch for any Wolfie or sprint car fan.

Is this heaven?
No, it's Iowa....Knoxville, Iowa.

Yeah and to think when he got so depressed about racing he took all of his trophy's piled them in his truck and took them to the dumps and threw them all away.

Can you imagine being at the dump and seeing that, then after he drove away go and pick them all up and save them.

I wish someone would have.

I know Doug really wishes he didn't do that now.

On a personal note, and this comes as no surprise, he hasn't skipped a beat and will still be with us for several decades to come keeping us entertained in one way or another.

Great read about one of my favorites in the Sprint car world.  Many of the younger generations may recognize the name but Doug was, unquestionably, one of the best ever.  I'm glad that later in life is being good to him and wish him many more happy years.
