Just like every year for the past 10 years or more, the Outlaws are really going to have to up their game if they want to beat Brownie at the Nationals.

Just like every year for the past 20 years or more, Brownie will step on his dick and get excited and hop the cushion in turn two!

Yes! This post means it's finally Nationals time.
Great charge by Brown last night and another reason why Knoxville is still the best. Very few tracks could allow for a 16th-1st charge like that no matter how good someone's car was.
And clearly, Larson, Gravel, Rico etc are reconsidering their Nationals entry forms given they'll now all be racing for 2nd place.

7th by the first or second lap so seemingly many less than brownie quality cars ahead of him in the line up. So a run from 7th to win is still almost unheard of today, great for him. Also 20 laps or 50laps, big difference. I would love to see him win the Nationals.

Haha yes! Absolutely are they shaking in their boots! But it was a great night of racing. Odd track and lots of grip since it rained all week. Track reminded me of the type it was at a WOO show in Knoxville a few years back where Brown won. On a different note Timms was also fast but man was he rattled all night from that heat race incidnet(s) with Gage. If he calmed down he might have won from 10th.

Yeah he got probably 6 cheap ones on the start for sure but the rest of the way through the field he sure did earn it.

Whats his streak of Nationals A main appearances? Honestly he does seem to get a little over excited at times around Nationals but his results are still better than most can dream of. The HL & Woo guys are really just that good. Many cut their teeth at Knoxville, have crew chiefs very familiar with the track, and these guys run and test here multiple times yearly. None of them are strangers for sure so when the regulars struggle and everyone picks on that fact it kinda falls on deaf ears here.

Only 3 top 5s is surprising. Missed the race in 2016 and 2019. 14 overall A main appearances.

No way Brown will do it. The old man will get lapped like he does every Outlaws race. Don't let one lucky race fool you. They don't call him Backjack for nothing. He will get spanked when the big dogs come to town. He will get out smarted and be a head case when someone passes him. Other than Knoxville what has he done with High Limit and Outlaws. Absolutely nothing. Statistics don't lie.

I'd give Brown the same odds as Sammy Swindell or Tyler Walker winning the Nationals. My pick this year would be Kofoid.

First 2 times I went to Knoxville Nationals, he finished 2nd to Schatz & I thought he was crazy fast. Since then, not too impressed, especially when he travels
It would be cool if he "won for the locals", but I'd be surprised...

Ony 2 and 57 can win the race. Maybe 49 if he gets lucky. 21 will be lapped traffic in the first segment.

As much as I don't want to see him win at the weekly shows, I think it would be AWESOME if he won the Nationals. I do not think it will happen though. He was bad fast last Saturday coming from 16th to win it so maybe he has found something in the car! Uncle Danny was poking his head in the Cockpit seemingly with a lot to say during the Open Red also so maybe that had something to do with him winning.
Another thing to think about would be Kyle Larson.
With him running 360 Nationals, NASCAR & the 410 Nationals, What are the chances of him hitting the Trifecta and sweeping all 3!!
I know he has been sucking at NASCAR lately but he is real strong on the short tracks and we all know how he is at Knoxville...
Maybe even throw the Kings Royal in there for a Win as well.

Brown made all the McCarls, looks like they were parked.
Obviously Brown is good, and IMO has about the same odds of AMAC winning it. Who knows, Maybe we'll have another Kraig, or Tim, or Jason this year.
I think most people, MOST, would be happy if a Knoxville regular would win, however there are the usual hatters.
Keep It Real

IMO alot of things would have to go his way to have a chance to win. Low pill # draw, top 2 or 3 in qualifying, great heat race and A main finish on his qualifying night. Front or 2nd row starting position on Saturday night A main. That's just for starters.
Then maybe a few of the top Outlaws/HL teams get late pill draws don't do so good in their heats and mains. Maybe some don't make the A main and some start back towards the back of the A main.
I'd like to see Brian or someone else who hasn't won win it. But a great run against the locals on a Saturday night show is not quite the same vs the Outlaws and High Limit at the biggest race of the year.

I think his time has passed. He had his opportunity with 3 runner-up finishes in a row. He could have won 2 of those, but Donny was just a smidge better----which is weird to say, but it's the truth. Brownie was as good as Donny 2 of those 3 years.
Could the stars align for him to make a podium run? Sure. Qualify early and set 3rd-5th quick time (so he can run the 3rd-5th heat when the track widens out), get a good heat with some lower quality cars, charge to 1st thru 4th, and then podium the A-main, and he'll be a top 6 car on Saturday night. In recent years, he has not been good enough to have things not go perfectly for him. Donny in his prime and Larson right now couldn't care less if they drew the 1 pill or the 52nd pill. They were, or are, fast enough.

Brownie runs best at Knoxville and might be one of the top 20 drivers that are active this season. There are at least 6/7 drivers who are running HL or WOO that will be favored. Age is not in his favor but has a lot of experience and has the equiptment to do it. Be a popular win as He has a lot of fan hoping. It starts with time trials getting in heat that isnt as loaded and preliminary feature performance. The odds favor Larson,Bell.Kofoid Gravel Abreau Maceno Sweet but like to see someone upset the favored drivers . Sheldon Brian Austin Aaron all capable of doing it but things have to line up. Just making the feature was a big accomplishment when We used to race and there are always a couple that make it that most are surprised at. There are some races that pay more but none with the Prestige that being a Knoxville National winner. Different type of racing but Daytona 500,Indy 500 both make career accomplishments. Bobby Allen will be most remembered for his Nationals win.The most memorable of all the Nationals was Donnies win from deep Wolfgags alphabet run that motor expired and Sammys tire failure all stick out more than win from pole.

I think he can always make some noise. I think he finished 7th last year. However, cars that finished 4th on back were not even in the same hemisphere as Larson. There's a big difference between "making some noise" at the Nationals, and being able to win it. He was good enough to win it 15 years ago. The last few years however, he's "made noise" at best. I would love to see it too, but I think that time has passed.
