Wondering if there are any crew chiefs that are the equivalent of Davey Brown in and near Knoxville? Someone who has the depth of experience to get a car ready to roll for whomever is in the seat. He is making Ryan Smith look like a championship contender this year and amazing with C Bell.

I would say there isn't an equivalent to Davey anywhere. He's been doing this since the late 50's. Every driver he's ever worked for has won. Some of the very best had career years with him Wolfgang comes to mind first. The list of HoF's he's had is a very long list. Whether it's setting the car up or motors he's done it all. There will never be another like Davey Brown.

Davey is a legend and at 90 still at it. There have been a few car owner crew cheifs or mechanics with a lot of talent. Bob Trostle,Lenard McCarl Gil Sonner Sammy Swindell could build every part plus chasiss to race and win. Things are different today as you just pick up phone and buy what ever needed. Ricky and Karl were or Ricky still is two of the best but travel. To just say Knoxville is a tough question as not many just run Knoxville. The cars are still similar in design to Bob Trostle 50 year old cars.

Davey is one of a kind, I wish Argabright would write a book about his Davey's decades in the sport. Don't forget about car owner Donald, he knows what makes a car fast too. Don and Davey worked with Ryan several years ago and they all got along well and Ryan learned a lot. He has become damn good driver since those days and he is making the 69k look like a fast car again.

You can't mention how fast the 69K is without mentioning the main reason......Don Kreitz Jr....the man who does everything on the car. Some credit has to be given where credit is do....go watch in the shop, at the track and when they travel....you'll be giving Donald some recognition then too.
