I was at the track and have my own photos and personal knowledge of what happened. Tracy was sprayed with the fuel and drove through the fire. To run into flames again would set himself on fire. That would have given the crew two burning drivers to deal with. Staying away from flames was the smart thing to do. By the time it appeared that the fire crew was not going to pull Johnny out an official was all ready there and did it. Tracy would not have gotten him out any faster. Tracy did come back and check on Johnny who was conscious and telling them not to cut his driving suit off so he knew Johnny wasn't seriously hurt. These are only my opinions but I was there. Also ask Sharon Bank what Tracy was mad about. I was there for that argument also. Tracy did not blame Johnny for the wreck.

Maybe I missed something when Tracy was yelling at me? I heard him loud and clear. I will NEVER forget the incident. I could go on about this, but I will keep my opinions to myself. If you have some time, find the post from JJ Yeley about the incident on IndianaOpenWheel.
When a team goes through something like this, you are in total shock yourself, and your only concern is the health of the participants involved in the incident...not the car and machinery involved. Cars and equipment can be fixed and replaced. Human lives cannot.
Johnny escaped serious injury, but he does have first degree burns on his face, hands and left ankle. He inhaled methanol fumes and flames which could have caused serious injuries to his lungs. That is why he wasn't released from the hospital until Saturday (three days after the incident). He escaped serious injury, yes, but when I was at the track I thought he was a goner. This was the scariest thing I have ever personally witnessed. I appreciated the concern of many drivers and teams who came over soon after the incident to offer their sympathy and help. I am also thankful for the safety equipment and official who pulled Johnny out of the fire.

Just from what I saw in the video.....which keep in mind is just a video. I'd have to agree with SC90 (Sharon). Hines NEVER had any sort of decent intentions anythere in that situation.

If I was a driver, how many of you would risk your methanol soaked fire suit butt to save my dumba**? That is what I thought......
That was not a fair question.
not that I am arguing he should or should not have. It is his life and choice. I am just that god damn stupid I still probably would have tried to help him even after being on fire myself and knowing I might have fuel spillage on me. I think it is one of those neuron connection my brain does not make and would just allow me to jump in.

Ms. Bank alluded to a posting by JJ Yeley, I am presuming the posting was a driver's perspective. Would one individual be kind enough to copy/paste JJ's comments. I was unable to locate cited posting and I am curious to read and digest a driver's perspective. Thanks in advance for the posting.

Below is a post from "wagonburner" on the indianaopenwheel.com site. As you will see, it is signed 'JJ'. Not sure if Ms. Bank knows this is actualy JJ or if she thought it was. With no last name listed, one can't tell for sure. Anyway, here is the post I found from "wagonburner":
"I just watched the video for the first time. I was glad to see that Johnny was ok, as for Tracy Hines, what a sorry excuse for a racer, and a big ass cry baby.He just watched with his hands on his side as a fellow racer burns. If you watch close enough a brave man with no fire protection grabbed Johnny by his feet and dragged him out of the methanol(fire). I sure am glad the only thing hurt was tracy Hines ego, no I doubt it! ,JJ"

OK ppl.....i'm not a regular poster on here and usually just sit back and keep quiet....most of the time these post are comical,or down right stuppid....but sometimes these post get pretty serious as this one is......i don't claim to know everything, nor do i claim to be a genious....but ......if Mr. Hines was drenched in fuel....since HIS car was the one blazing FIRST,and still burning when he bailed out IF you look closely (which i'm sure anyone would understand that)....i would surely think he would have been on fire, AND seeking help(firecrew) for himself....darn sure know that i would....please give up the drenched in fuel tactic of trying to make him not look so bad....it is what it is....it's like being stuppid....dumd ppl can be educated....stuppid ppl can't....or....once a J--k A-s....always a J--k A-s.....let's just hope something was learned from all this and maybe the next time EVERONE will be talking about how everyone did such a good job of the rescueing....wouldn't that be nice?.....life's short, play hard.

Jackhole22.....absolutely NOT....sorry....i didn't pay any attention to the likeness of your name and my comments....lol....must have been an oversite....sometimes you do make sense....lol.....there were others "clearly" trying to defend his actions....i didn't have you in that category....but let me NOT try to put you in a category that you don't belong....please....you decide whether you are defending him or not....and if you are....so be it....have a great one....life's short, play hard
