Iadirt I did feel for randall a little bit. He was in a david vs Goliath battle and he made schatz work for it. Kid earned my respect last night.

Never did I expect him to pass Schatz back and put up such a fight. It was fun just got off work and getting ready to head up to hopefully see another great race. Hope we enjoy the beautiful evening as much or maybe even more than last night.

In no way do I consider the WoO between the two nights even. Thursday clear advantage for WoO, True Outlaw, and Knoxville Regulars. The winner will come out of those categories and it won't be a Knoxville Regular either.

But I respect your opinion as mine isnt the gospel either.

I totally understand your point as to where the winner will come from but that's how they try to split the nights putting top guys from each group on both nights andwhen I looked at the different pools it looked like there was thought in how they did it subjectively for each.  One night is always gonna be tougher it's just the nature of the beast.  Looking forward to seeing it play out for sure

I think they did a good job of the split.

WoO - Wednesday - 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th  in points and Mcfadden (only not top 7 because of the penalty earlier) (even?)

WoO - Thursday, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 8th,

All Stars - Wednesday - 1st, 3rd, 4th in points (advantage)

All Stars Thursday - 2nd, 6th, 7th in points

PA Wednesday - Marks (advantage)

PA Thursday - Macri

Knoxville Wednesday - Reutzel, Jeffrey

Knoxville Thursday - Brown, A. McCarl (advantage)

California Weekly Wednesday - Day (advantage)

California Weekly Thursday - Golobic

True Outlaws Wednesday -  Peck, Sanders, PPM, Shurenberg, Cole Macedo, Bacon

True Outlaws Thursday - Larson, Rico, Eliason, Pittman, Stewart, Kofoid (advantage)

Seems like they did a good job splitting it up at least with the top 30 or so in the U.S.  Yes some hitters who most people had for locks to lock into Saturday (McFadden, Reutzel, Sheldon) or even win it all (Gravel) didn't have great  nights/bad luck, it was still divided well, IMO.

I like your analysis but I'm not sure what your (advantage) notation means.

Just who I felt was the better pool of each group of each night is all.  Of course all debatable, just how I looked at the split being pretty even overall for the two nights, that's all.  I don't have a car there so I can look at it as a fan and fans are opinionated but I'm not arrogant enough to think my opinions are fact.

It's tradition every year to argue Thursday is better and this year it probably is. But the winner has come from Wednesday more often than not. Of course it helps Schatz's night is always Wednesday.

Just think if he had Warner on the car, he'd have lapped the field!

Well then it's a good thing Rico has Ricky Warner.

I guess in your eyes Schatz didn't fade in the final 25 laps.  They made the wrong adjustments!

Let's go Sprint Car Racing!

Rico - 10 wins
Donny - 0 wins That is right the big fat zero!

Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

Doesn't matter.....Bottom line is Schatz was a 5th place car at best.  He was lucky a couple dropped out for him to hang onto 3rd.

Looking on from the 26th row.....Schatz had more than a handful.....he was making his car really wide.

Wouldn't have mattered----Kyle in his prime is better than Donny past his prime.  Unless Kyle had a tire or mechanical failure, Donny wasn't beating Kyle last night even if God himself had setup the car.

On another note, I agree 100% with your earlier statement-----Knoxville Nationals are the best format in all of sprint car racing!!  Period!

I wouldn't bet against Schatz if Ricky set up his car.  Ricky is one of the best right now.....if not the best.

Agreed, Knoxville when you can run the top like that is a young man's game. The only car that had a shot at Larson was Gravel and he started too far back.

I'll take a guy named Kinser, goes by first name of Karl.  Keep in mind, Ricky was his protege for a period of time.   He is still the winnest person of the Knoxville Nationals coming in with 14 wins.

In Strawser's defense, he did say best in the business right now...................

We can disagree, that's fine.  I would rather take Kyle Larson, in his prime, in a car setup at 80% over Donny at this point in his career with a car setup by Ricky Warner.  On the flip side, before Kyle was REALLY, REALLY good at the Nats, I would take Donny in his prime, in a car setup at 80% over Kyle driving a car setup by Ricky Warner.

The only sticking point you and I have is the importance of the driver.  It's pretty clear Kyle can overcome an ill-handling race car and make it do things it shouldn't do.  When Kyle loses a race, he almost always says there are things I could have done differently.  When other drivers lose a race, they say "WE just couldn't get the car to run right on the bottom."   Paul Silva is obviously no dummy.  But, no one in the pits-----NO ONE----can overcome an ill-handling race car like Kyle.  If Paul gives Larson a great car, Donny isn't catching him at this point in his career no matter who's wrenching.  If Paul gives Kyle a GOOD car, I'll still take Kyle and probably win 2 out of 3 times.

I am not a fan of Donny's, but I enjoyed seeing his 11th win last year, especially considering what he was going through on a personal level, and the crowd respected it too.  That said, if Larson doesn't blow a tire, Donny doesn't win last year.  On the same note, if Rico doesn't blow a tire this year...............who knows?  I would still take Kyle in that battle, but it would have been fun to watch.

You mean he got lucky to finish 3rd.  Nothing against Schatz.....he looked sick in the last half of the race.
