Does anybody know what happened to him? He hasn't been on the last couple IRA broadcasts. 

Ray quit last week at I94 Speedway in Furgus Falls, MN. I don't have the details, just know he showed up and left apparently upset over something.

That is true and it has been brewing for a while. I talked with a person involved on the IRA scoring end at Wilmot and while Ray was graciously taking a mentoring angle with Chatty Madi, this new Loren kid was bulldozing his way into Sinclairs back pocket to announce and running right over Ray in the process. In true Steve fashion, once he determined Ray was replaceable, he put him to pasture by not having his back. Showed no loyalty or appreciation at all for everything Ray has done.  From what I understand, this kid had done the same thing at Plymouth Dirt Track and their announcer as well. The worst part is anyone who followed this Loren for any amount of time on social media, will attest to the fact he was a large instigator with issues at PDTR as well. Started a good amount of trouble. He is dirt track racings version of an ambulance chaser. That being said, Chatty Madi has a bright future with the organization, Ray was a pure professional and deserved so much better from that organization, and this blowhard Loren kid should get boo'd out of the place any chance you get. Was a shameful scenerio all around. 

Dang. Ray will be missed by many. Myself included. He was a staple to the IRA program.

Didn't care for his pre-green rant but a knowledgable and competent announcer. Good luck to Ray.

Its a tough gig but that girl is unwatchable.

Certainly missed Ray announcing at Fergus Falls...some of that was really rough to listen to...did not know that happened as I talked to him beforehand...

I can tell from this post you're lying through your teeth. You don't know anything about what's actually going on behind the scenes with the IRA. I'd bet every dollar I have you didn't "talk with a person involved with the IRA scoring" because I can tell you if you did not a single one of them would be blaming Loren. Do everyone a favor and quit pretending like you have any idea what's going on with the whole Ray situation.

Nothing "happened" to him. He decided to move on, but luckily for the IRA they have the fresh young voices of Chatty Madi and Loren. I'm very excited to watch them grow as announcers!

You either are Loren, or a friend of his with only 2 posts. You created an account to argue this. Ray drove 6 hours to walk out because he decided to move on??? use your head. As much as Madi and Loren want to act like the "fresh new faces" of the IRA, its fairly obvious the fans have no use for etiher of them. I didnt want to get personal but a good amount of the fans around us at the last show I was at, absolutely ripped on her and everyone Loren was involved with at PDTR thought he was a clown. Yes the conversation did take place, and no, not everyone within the IRA are ok with what happened. Both Madi and Loren are in "media", so if they didnt push Ray out, get him on a podcast and lets hear it. I know Ray is pretty stand-up and wont trash anyone, but certainly he deserves to be heard. If you are all on good terms yet, get him on a podcast or FB live for everyone. You have big mouths, use them!

Hello, sprinter44, this actually is Loren. I can assure you that Ray quit of his own accord, (at least that's how it appeared and that's what I was told) however that doesn't change how unfortunate this situation is for everyone involved. Of course not everyone with the IRA is okay with how this happened, myself included! Ray was and is a hero of mine that I look up to. As far as your comments about me as a person, I'm more than willing to sit down and have a chat with you in person to show you who I really am and what I stand for. And as to what the reasons were behind Ray's departure, I honestly don't know. I was up in the booth calling races as usual at I-94 and he was sitting in the stands when we were rolling the A Main and I was instructed to start reading the lineup if he wasn't in the tower at that time, so that's what I did. Then the next time I looked into the stands, he was gone which was about 1/2 way through the A Feature. The next day at River Cities, I was informed he'd quit. I felt Ray, Madi and myself made a great team this year so I'm saddened at how it ended. Hell, we even had a great conversation that day at I-94 about the massive car count and how awesome of a night it was going to be. Again, I simply don't know the "why" so I don't want to speculate on that at all. I'm just going to continue to show up, do the job to the best of my ability and try to help grow the series as much as I can. It did seem as though this could have been Ray's last full season with the IRA from some things he had hinted at, but I wish we could have sent him off in the way he deserved. 

I have listened to IRA this year and I would agree. IRA or All Star announcers please stop screaming before the green. I turn the volume down and you still wake up the neighbors.

I turn it down to not wake the wife or kids. Literally haha I'm so well trained I do it in advance now!
