‘Bandits Outlaw Summer Nationals Set for Kennedale Speedway Park – THIS SATURDAY June 19th at 7pm!

Garland TX (06/14/21) by DarinShort.com. Winged outlaw sprint car racing fans are going to be in for a wild night of action and excitement when the touring teams of the Bandits Outlaw Sprint Series(SM) tear up the dirt for the second time in 2021 at KENNEDALE SPEEDWAY PARK (KSP) on Saturday, June 19th at 7pm with the running of the Bandits Outlaw Summer Nationals presented by Smiley's Racing Products, Griffith Truck & Equipment and The Peterson Agencies. The event pays $2,000 to win and down to $300 for to start the feature (details below).

Racing teams can arrive during the course of the day to park (sprint cars park at the yellow signs on the North and Northwest corner of the pit area). Pit gates open by 4pm, ‘Bandits mandatory pit meeting and draw cutoff at 5:30pm, with hot laps at 6:30pm and racing at 7pm.

:30 KSP ‘Bandits race rewind: Ontario’s Dylan Westbrook would earn top qualifier rights after earning the most finishing and passing points over the other 38 teams on March 13th, 2021. Westbrook would lead the 24-car field (expanded, as Cabinets by Tommy added purse money for an additional 4 starters) through dense lapped traffic with 3rd place starter Tim Kaeding in tow. Kaeding would get side-by-side with Westbrook on several occasions, but couldn’t clear him, until Westbrook kissed the corner three wall hard enough to end his night. Meanwhile 9th place starter JJ Hickle and 10th place starter Dale Wester would continue to advance through the field. At the finish Kaeding would take a popular win with Hickle and Wester rounding out the top three.

Fans can expect another talent-filled of Bandits Outlaw Sprint Series drivers and will do our best to keep fans informed of teams planning to attend! A full program of racing is on tap – plus the KSP divisions will be in competition: Factory Stock, SportMod, IMCA Stock Cars & Sport Compacts...plus a Spectator race! KSP has informed us that the ‘Bandits will be the second division out in feature running order.

The Bandits Outlaw Sprint Series is a division of Sprint Car Bandits® and strives to help create and deliver high quality and sustainable winged outlaw sprint car racing. Visit www.2021BOSS.com for more series information, rules and driver registration forms.

Kennedale Speedway Park (KSP) is located at 6727 Hudson Village Creek Kennedale, TX 76060. Search “Kennedale Speedway Park” on Facebook or click www.raceKSP.com for complete track details. Or you can contact Track Promoter James Lopez at 817-897-7102 or email him at [email protected] if you need additional information.

If a driver passes the lead car on the last lap of the A-feature event - and takes the win - that driver will win a $500 bonus from Kool Trikes of Clarksville, Texas!

Kool Trikes takes cool Harley Davidson motorcycles and converts them into 'kool' trikes! Company founder Randy Butler is a former sprint car racer. Kool Trikes is the only trike company that offers race quality components such as Wilwood brake calipers, Zipco ball milled and drilled brake rotors, Pro Shocks, Afco coil springs, and Energy Suspension urethane components.

Butler paired his engineering and fabrication skills to create the Kool Trikes product line. It was an instant hit and the Kool Trikes brand has become a highly sought product for Harley riders - worldwide! Make sure to check out their new lineup of trike conversions at the link above. The Bandits Outlaw Sprint Series would like to thank Randy and Robbie for their continued support of our series!

Tech note: for example, if car number 1 is scored the leader at the end of lap 24, and if car number 2 passes car number 1 on that final lap and takes the win, car number 2 wins the bonus. There has to be pass for the lead on the 25th lap, and the lap 24 and lap 25 scored leaders must be different for the award to be won.

RACING TEAMS: all Bandits Outlaw Sprint Car teams that sign in will draw for heat race starting positions, regardless of their engine C.I. displacement, and will receive passing points to determine their straight-up from points feature race starting position. All drivers make sure to read the posted rules at the series website prior to heading to the track. Mandatory drivers meeting and draw cut-off is at 6:15pm.

The standard posted SCB purse and rules are in effect, which in 2021 is as follows: $2,000 – 1,000 – 600 – 500 – 400 – 390 – 380 – 370 – 360 – 350 – 340 – 330 – 320 – 310 – 300…15th to 20th. All non-qualifiers or non-starters will each receive $100. As in previous years, there is no entry fee, no series membership fee and a $20 nightly draw fee. Drivers should go to www.2021BOSS.com prior to arrival for complete rules, purse and procedures information.

Click www.2021BOSS.com for the latest in series news and where the tour is headed to next. You can also reach the SCB on Facebook, at www.Facebook.com/SprintCarBandits.

Good luck Darin. Any "out of the box" engines running out there? Couldn't a guy in theory build one in his garage and put a giant alky carb on it? Thanks for all that you do for our sport.

Absolutely, yes! We've got some LS engines, some 383's, carbureted 360's, 'outlaw' 305s, 410's and about anything else in between. We literally had a team take an LS engine out of a pickup and Allard Racing Engines turned it into an engine for one of the cars in our series. I think the team only had about $7,500 in it. Another behind the scenes story from this past weekend at Texas Motor Speedway was a local young driver that had raced with us for 5 years, hadn't won, but shown up to race for the first time in a 410 on Wednesday (for practice). I was told by a person close to the scene that they couldn't get the horsepower to the track with our rules package and they had to detune the engine significantly for race night. ...and ended up coming from 9th place to battle and eventually pass Sammy Swindell for the win on Thursday night's opener. Definitely left that young man with a great story for the rest of his lifetime! Final restart, Swindell in the 72s, Austin Mundie in the 4, Channin Tankersley in the 17g (might have to copy/paste link): https://www.facebook.com/texasdirttrack/posts/162126829230070
