Would rather stay closer to Kings Royal and Nationals next year and camp.

So I am curious about renting a camper that has been setup at a nearby campground.  Have you done it?  If so, where?  Was there a minimum night rental?  Would you recommend it?  approximate cost?

I rented one off of rvshare.com for the nationals. It was like new for about $100 a day. The guy delivered, set up, and picked up for an additional $100 which wasn’t bad considering he lived north of Des Moines. I’m going to use him again next year.

I am curious myself.  I have owned various RV's for the last 25 years.  We are considering selling ours next spring, so renting may be my next move----especially for the Nationals.  I have found a few dealers in my hometown area that rent travel trailers that sleep 5-6 people and they are available for $550 for 7 days.  This may not be too bad considering I usually have a group of 3-6 people.  We could rent 2 of them if we have more than 3 and splitting would not be too bad.  I think they are 28 ft. travel trailers.

Would be interesting to see what others have experienced.

I would try rvshare.com like Keith mentioned. I used the site for a beach vacation and the process was very easy and affordable

I just looked into it.  Now I'm kinda changing my mind about getting rid of the camper and just keeping it and renting it out!!!! Smile

Hell yeah!!  I have been dreaming of living on the beach renting multiple units out ever since I rented that one for myself.

Four of us shared the cost of a motorhome rental for the Eldora Million.  I can't recall the make and model but it is was roomy enough and easy to drive.  We're from Minnesota so we put something like 800 each way on it so around 1600 miles.  If memory serves me it cost us around $400 each at 2003 prices.  I don't know about renting just a trailer at destination or what you're willing to spend but being on site or within a few miles is the way to go.
