Looking for advice on best seats at Cedar Lake Speedway. Also see that you can reserve a spot and bring your own lawn chair. Wondering if anyone has done that and if it is a good option. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Great race track, great racing the two times we've been there, about 15 years ago and plenty of seating on both sides of track. Didn't go back again even though I'm in Fargo making it a short drive for attending WoO races. Reason: got there at about 4:00 and it was open for picking seats, but the entire front stretch of the main grandstands was already covered with "taped down blankets" to the seating, picked out much earlier by people who left to go eat or shop or go home, whatever. It was funny because there were very very few cars in the parking area. The 2nd year we were able to leave earlier and were there before this had happened, but boring waiting hours for the racing to start. Think they were opening the grandstands at 1pm back then. They have a big money late model race there, forget its name, maybe two of them, not sure.

I’ve been there many times. I’ve always had good seats, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been there for the USA Nationals. Regarding the lawn chair option; I’ve never done that. You might try a late model forum or call the track.

My van decided to puke out it's power steering fluid or I'd have gone last week. CLS is my home track and though I rarely sit in the stands I never see a sellout where you wouldn't find a seat. Big shows like the USA Nationals and Outlaws can get crowded but there is still room to sit.
Not getting out there as much anymore but if you have any more specific questions I should be able to answer them for you.

USA Nationals three day event WoO Late Models took place last weekend. The Masters earlier this year is a Mod and Late Model race. WoO was in July, two day non wing special later this month and Jerry Richert Memorial all Sprint show September 7th, I am missing both this year. Legendary 100 their season ending extravaganza the week after the Memorial than they usually have an Enduro as their final event after the 100.
My first time out there was in 1962 and have had seasons when I was doing photography where I made almost every race of the season. Kind of a home away from home for many years.

I've been there for probably 10 shows, mostly for the Jerry Richert Memorial race but also a couple WoO sprint shows. I find the front stretch seating to be too close to the track for my liking, so I typically sit higher up on the backstretch. I've never had issues with getting a seat, but I typically get to the track about an hour before race start. There is a separate parking lot behind the backstretch, making it more convenient than parking in the lot up by the main road (if you are sitting in the backstretch).

Most new fans to the track like the backstretch seating. You are a bit father back from the racetrack but the angle of the aluminum grandstands allows you to sit higher up for better sight lines over the wall.
The only issue, as the sun goes down your looking right into the sun in turn three which can make it tough so bring your sunglasses. Other than that, the concession stand, bathrooms, etc are no different from the back to the front.
If you want some shade during the racing program, sit on the front stretch side and to the right (toward 1st turn) side and as high up as you can. That area will be in the shade most of the evening.
Great track and the Sprint Cars put on a terrific show there.
