Minority and Republican.....good God y'all!
BTW, I wouldn't put Weird Al in charge of cleaning the erasers, never mind the hall!

first off - let me say I respect you and your opinions a lot - much more than it gets perceived. I'm sure I don;t go about explaining myself in the best form at all times - and whereas it looks like sometimes I'm seriously demeaning someone for their opinion - that's not at all my intent. And this looks like a very good debate/issue for us to discuss - I'll try to go in the order you presented them. good start to the day.
By Browinie I wasn;t really referring to him in particular, but more the fact he was ever head of FEMA (he clearly was not qualified- before that he was a arabian quarter horse fella) - of course now the new director stepped down for what I could only call a fraudulent interview. It just seems to me that all the important posts are filled by -well - I would call em criminals. I don't think these people are dumb or incompetent - which then opens up the mindset of the message they want to send versus what they are really doing.
As far as immigration - I think both parties are equally at fault. Those who call themselves liberal are opposed to conservatives passing legislation solving hispanic illegal immigration. While at the same time most of the arab, India, and pakistani - I guess what we just sum up as muslim - folks who are here - are mostly due to deals republicans have struck with third world countries. I know many will disagree with the latter - but when we offer high priced energy and industry to these nations - those same nations want many of their citizens to go to school here - and then run succesful businesses here - it would take too long to explain the entire process - so I just say - for ALL of our immigration issues - everyone is at fault. I've always thought instead of the starting wars throughout the world we should make America safe first - then take care of business - Afghanistan was an exception to that - but the border security and illegal immigration should have been dealt with before Iraq - I think.
I do have 1 more thought - I believe that if the office pf the presidency has rendered itself immune to the people of this country - and probably immune to impeachment as well - I;m 100% infavor of a gag order being issued on our president. So that we may prevent world war 3 from happening. I apologize but I feel if it happens - this man will be the one to start it. Because after the WMD debacle with Iraq - which I think everyone knows was just an excuse - by all right they have no credibility left to start throwing that term against Iran. I do think that something MAJOR needs to be done about Iran tryin to get nukes. But despite what we will deceived into believing......that country has no intention whatsoever of starting a war. They obviously want more clout on the worldwide stage. If we actually need drastic measures - then I think we should do it covertly - as that would probably be the most effective --- I think. Iran is much more "westernized" than people think. Even the ruling islamics there know it. No war of any kind could achieve anything for Iran - or its government. I think they just want to be superpower. Yes I also like most think that needs to be avoided. But I think we;ve witnessed the effectiveness of buildups of hundreds of thousands of troops. It don't matter if you got 10 million - or how many nukes you have - to be successful you have to have the right people for the job calling the shots. we are worlds away from that right now. We have the best military in the world. The best troops in the world. And the poor souls are rendered impotent by rich fat men in fancy suits. My hope is that the citizens of this country wake up in time to realize they can still change it - or at least try to. I don't believe it's by bringin troops home. I agree with Faster Pussycat - then lives will have been lost in vain. I believe its to be done by actually HAVING A PLAN. as right now there isn;t one. Every year that goes by we hear it will be a few more. We need the right people in the right places to do this. And it seems obvious no one has a clue who that is or how to make that happen. But no - if we leave Iraq - it will be state of chaos much worse than now. But for God's sakes.........there has to be some sort of plan. What is currently going in is obviously not cuttin it. And this where I differ dramatically from most - because I think the lack of plan is because the true plan right now is to never leave so that - if need be - we can pretty much steal all their remaining resources. oil being the most prevalent. so again - we need to have a REAL plan over there - so this will not be the long term case.
But hey it's all good. thats just my opinion and many other folks have different ones. I;m very sorry to anyone and everyone that this post ended up being so long. I started it hoping to be concise. lol. but just so folks know - I meant and hopefully there wasn't nothing disrespectful in this post. It was just my thoughts and views is all. If someone shares an opposite one - by all means - I enjoy reading intelligent counter thoughts...................

a couple of things caught my eye.
by all right they have no credibility left to start throwing that term against Iran. I do think that something MAJOR needs to be done about Iran tryin to get nukes.
you seemed to say that bush has no credibility in the info he is providing, yet you turn around and make a statement that something major needs to be done about iran based off of that info. if bush has no credibility then why is iran a threat? and if iran has no intention of starting a war why do you say something major has to be done?
on the imigration thing. if the government is letting in muslims due to deals that the republicans have struck then they really are not here illeagaly are they?
you keep throwing the "they have no plan" line out there. well maybe they have no good plan in your eyes, or the plan you might choose (by the way what would your plan be?), but that does not equal "no" plan. wouldn't that be a great way to win a war. with complete trasparency in our military and government letting everyone know just what our plans and stratigies are. i can understand folks being upset by a plan that is not working the wat it was hoped, but even that was a plan. i think if wwII would have been fought now instead of then we would be hard pressed to achieve what we did in the time frame we did it in just because of the conflicts both with the media and within the political community.
i believe you are torn between what you want for this country and what your political feelings are. it seems your good 'ol boy down home red blooded american heart wants one thing but your politically responsive brain just can't come to terms with just what it takes to get it, let alone how it might need to be done and who is doing it. again no offence it just seems i understand your frustration and you need to take it out on someone.

LOL!
Ironically, the savior of BRRs GOP--Ronald Reagan--was obsessed with UFOs...He even tried chasing a UFO...
Ronald Reagan said, while governor of California, "I was in a plane last week when I looked out the window and saw this white light. It was zigzagging around." "I went up to the pilot and said, "Have you ever seen anything like that?" He was shocked and he said, "Nope." And I said to him: "Let's follow it!" "We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light." "We followed it to Bakersfield, and all of a sudden to our utter amazement it went straight up into the heavens." "When I got off the plane I told Nancy all about it, but we didn't file a report on the object because for a long time they considered you a nut if you saw a UFO..." Ronald Reagan, 1974
At least Dennis Kucinich has the guts to address the issue...
"The cry has been that when war is declared, all
opposition should be hushed. A sentiment more
unworthy of a free country could hardly be
propagated."
~William Ellery Channing

Ok, I think its a shame that this thread has lost all contact with Sprint Car racing. I also think it is very clear (to borrow a phrase from Bill W,) that if we keep doing what we are doing, we will keep getting what we got. The solution is in our hands.... So, vote OUT those who are IN and vote In a new face. Start at the top and go down the list. It is our right and duty. The Alfred E. Newman approach will no longer work, and no, he is not a presidential candidate. LOL. Think about it, and have a great day.

slammin - i think UFOs may well be real - even tho i never "saw" one. i only thought it was timely that the leftist nutbag brought it up last night. if that makes Zucchini seem like he has guts...that is your observation and not mine!
lefties make fun of Bush because and say he looke like a monkey or Alfred (see above) - look at Zuchinni again...

slide job - funny that this thread has more views than most in the archive...racing is pretty much over for the year, enjoy the off-season commercials!
