I must be a slow learner, because once again I went to the Hoosier Fall Modified Nationals, I mean the Hoosier Fall Classic, ponied up my $35 and was treated to about an hour of sprint car racing up thru the bmain, while enduring 8 sets of emod hot laps, two heats from a program to be completed, which in themselves is bearable.

Here's where the whole night went to hell- in the normal flow of a program, sprints heats, mod heats, sprint dash and bmain, mod bmain, sprint amain, get the hell out of there and let the mods finish the night with the speedway in my rear view mirror. Somthing went terribly wrong at the "Burg. With a great and I mean great track, tacky fast with wheelies, after the sprint bmain it is maybe 9:30pm, up next two modified bmains, which take a LLLOOOONNNNGGGGG time. After those are finally over, are we treated to the Hooiser Fall Classic-NO, we get to see the 50 lap modified feature, that rolls off at 10:30pm, I left the speedway at 10:50 with one lap in the books in the 50 lap clusterf*#k. So that's two modified bmains, and a 50 lap amain BETWEEN the sprint bmain and amain.

I guess the slow learner in me thinks I can drive an hour and forty five minutes with an early morning the next day and expect to get out at a decent hour. As it was I get home at 12:30 totally pissed and disgusted because I missed a hell of an amain. I realize they had another COMPLETE modified program to run after the Fall Classic was over, but why can't they use a little common sense and run the headline show at a decent hour.

This track has a $10,000 to win non-wing race in two weeks, I can only imagine the cars that will be there, but I have no confidence they will get me out and home before sun up. I've posted on here before about this garbage, it isn't worth it anymore to just be happy I'm at the track and get home at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning to feel like shit the whole next day.

I notice swamp posted from his hotel at 2:30am, which I bet was close to the track, so I would have seen home at about 3:30 at best. Was anyone else there, and as frustrated as I was? How do we let the tracks know this is not acceptable anymore without just staying home, which I don't want to do, but I also don't need this frustration either.

Oh by the way, I went to Gas City last Friday and saw a great show and was on the road at 9:30 and home by 11:00. Don't mind getting home at even 12:00, but any later and I start thinking about staying home.

I do have to agree with you that the mod races did take a very long time and last night's cool temps just added to the frustration. The Sprint A was an awesome race; however there were some incidents including a red or two that caused it to run longer than normal. We hung around to hear the interviews and wait for the results of the points championship before heading back to our hotel about 12:45.

It was definitely not the way the All Stars planned the evening as I noticed the order of events on the pitboard changed 3-4x throughout the evening. I really felt sorry for all the campers at the track when I came out of the casino a couple hours later and the mods were still racing! The non-wing sprints were the other half of this show a couple years ago and didn't take nearly as long to run off their events as the mods did last night.

Guess the proper method to convey our unhappiness to the track promoters would be via direct means of communication. They aren't mind readers and would probably appreciate the feedback for use in planning next year's events.
