Alan is without a doubt the most underrated driver in Central PA. He has never had a ton of money behind him but he knows how to pass cars and win races as good as anyone. I'd love to see someone put some solid funding behind him. He's smooth and as clean as they come. Hopefully we see plenty of the 87 sitting on the frontstretch this coming season.

Good article. Be nice to have the money where I could help him.

Wonder who is spending $70k? Never heard a number that high before. Impressive. I guess we'll know when we see someone start throwing up on the race track after they grenade an engine.

"Motors are the major expense. Krimes, who indicated that some teams are spending $70,000 for a good power plant, gets around it by building his own with father/car-owner Larry Krimes. But even that takes a toll.

"It's really difficult," Krimes said. "It's a money issue more than anything. I mean, $70,000 for a motor, that's our budget for the whole year."

this is why 410 sprint car racing will not survive much longer.

Many people said the same thing back in the 1980's, 1990's and 2000's. On paper, it looks like 410 sprint car racing should already be dead but it isn't. In fact all in all, its still pretty strong in all the hotbed areas. I don't have an answer for why, but somehow it just keeps on going.

It may change or reform, but it will take more than expensive motors to put an end to 410 Sprintcar racing
