Looking for info on the estimated number of active(races atleast 2 times per year) sprint car racers in the U.S. and possibly in Austrailia & some of the other main countrys. If you were to take a guess what would be your answer?

This is for research Smile How about just dirt: minisprints, midgets, & all classes of fullsize sprint cars.

+- 5000?

+- 10000?

I will check out sprintsource.com.

Jim Harris of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame keep the numbers and probably will have 2015 soon.  Last year was about:

410-700

360-1800

205-800

963 non-wing racers in 2015? Where are these numbers coming from?

Seems a bit high for non winged but figure in IN, OH, CA (Southern and Northern) as largest players, then smaller regional non winged series for MI, MO, WI, MN, AZ, Ontario. All them add up.

If you want New Zealand numbers my best guess would be around 50 active winged 410 drivers nationwide

We don't race 360's or 305's.

The wingless scene is basically non-existant with just a few exhibition shows. Around 10 active drivers.

Jim

Question is this drivers that ran just that type (motor size) car only or drivers that run a 410 on a friday and 360 on saturday. Or ASCS and put in a 410 to run with the WoO and All Stars. Or a track car that runs wing unless the Non-wing cars are running.

I see alot the above all over the US.

I'm looking at 500 to 700 drivers running 410,360/358, limited 360, Spec 360 non-wing, spec crate motor 355, 4 cyinders that run at Marysville ca.
