why are they not letting slip tubing even on the arm guard, and why are they going to a smaller front axle?

Thats nice just made 5 or 6 front axles scrap. Also makes the clamps for the tethers that I had to buy last year junk also. Who in their right mind thinks steel fasteners are going to make any difference in my wheel cover from coming off. When is the last time any one broke the dzus off.

Plain and simple they are following the WoO rules package. http://www.woosprint.com/images/stories/MainImages/PDF/2016RulesBulletin.pdf

Just received an update from Knoxville Raceway.
These new axle rules will not go into effect until the 2017 race season for Knoxville Raceway. This will give all teams a (1) year notice to make the necessary changes. However, the new axle rules WILL BE in effect for all of the Knoxville WoO events in 2016 as well as the Knoxville Nationals for 2016. (Per John McCoy)
The NSL will also follow these Knoxville Raceway front axle rules for 2016 and 2017...z

Seriously there must be some extreme boredom going on this offseason!!! Ridiculous rule changes... Maybe they can tell us next that every moving item on the car must be held together by one continous tether!! Lol.. Better change the Axle length to 51" while they are it too!!

On rule changes I just wish they would tell us why. If the slip joints have been coming apart in wrecks and could endanger driver , tell us. If 0.083 axels have been breaking, more than others, tell us. The spindle tethers are probably an improvement over just the axel tethers already in effect as a rule last year, and alot of people thought we needed them also. The 18 in RR and 2 in wicker is an attempt at making racing better. You do not know unless you try. Give it a chance.
