I am trying to buy my first sprit car I found a guy who has a 06 roller chassis it's either a champion of a challenger he was not sure and I can't seem to find much info on either brand I am wanting to find out if they were any good or if I should stay away from them and go with a better known brand I am going to be running the 305 class with whatever chassis I end up with any advice would be greatly appreciated

You are better to go with a current brand being used as then you can talk to other drivers and crew chiefs on how they set up their car if you are struggling. Better to stick with a Maxim, JJ, Eagle, XXX, etc. If the guy selling it does not know what he has that would be a red flag to me. Challenger was a popular chassis back in the 1990's don't think they even made them in the 2000's, I am sure someone on here would know the exact dates.

My recommendation is to spend a little more and try to get better equipment to start in then trying to figure out a 10 year old car as you can set your self up for a frustrating experience. I know sometimes the wallet tells you different. Good luck

The chassis themselves have changed very little in since the late 1990's early 2000's, but I would recommend getting a J&J, JEI/GF1, XXX, Maxim, Eagle/Schnee, Mach 1 since all of those are still being manufactured today and if you need support the manufactures can help you.

In the 305's an older chassis is not that much of a hindrance.  As long as the car is sqaure you will be fine.

at times your known manufactures have used frames for sale.  These have been repaired and checked for square

IF it is a Challenge or American Challenge, Bob Thompson at Jockos Sprint Parts in Des Moines worked for Challenge and bought them out, changed the name to American Challenge. Bet he could help if you sent photos.

The thing you can do is buy and older roller take the parts off of it and put them on a new chassis. Saves you some money.
