For anyone looking for races in the Carolinas the weekend before the World Finals, the USCS had to reschedule early October races to next weekend on October 30th and 31st.

Friday night, we'll be at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, NC and Saturday night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC.  It'll be our annual North South Shootout where a lot of the URC guys and some others come down to challenge the Southeastern folk.

The last two years have been extremely successful with tons of fans and 25+ cars.  I know that doesn't sound like a lot, but thats huge in the South!

Be interested to see how many cars show since they are running against the STN in Little Rock. Can't imagine Terry Gray and few of the other top USCS guys can't be to thrilled with that.

It does suck knowing Terry and a few others have to make that decision but this is the weekend that the two Carolina tracks wanted a race and we like racing sometimes!

Plus this is more of a North vs South thing than a midwest... A little easier to get cars to travel from Delaware and NJ to Charlotte than to Little Rock.  So in the end, more sprint cars get to race that weekend, which is a good thing!

Its kind of a neat three week stretch for us...

We get to race 360s near Charlotte October 30th and 31st.

Then the World Finals the next weekend.... Then the next weekend we have a 305 race in Sumter, SC.  Doesn't sound like a lot, but around here it is.  Got a little something for everyone in the area.

The tracks are over 700 miles apart.  Sounds like distance might be a factor, with or without herpes.

Personally LOVE this and wish I could be there this weekend.  Agree that the Carolina's are far from "Mecca" of sprint car racing, but it's growing.  And well, next week it IS the "Mecca" of sprint car racing with the World Finals.

Love that guys like TMac, Kemenah and Zoom-Zoom mad the haul from I-30 to the Carolina's today.  It's a tribute to sprint car lovers like you Brandon to keep pounding away on it here in the area.

It was the biggest 360ci sprint car weekend in the Carolinas history.

It was cool as hell pulling into the pits seeing all the big haulers.  I never thought guys like TMAC or Kemenah would drive all the way to Gastonia, NC.  I see pics of the Buffalo Wild Wings car all over the internet and magazines and now we're lined up next to them.

All the outsiders were extremely nice.  TMAC came over after practice and gave me some advice.  After the Dash, I had several outlaw crew members talking to Jake and I about set-ups.

Just an overall really cool weekend for us.  Hopefully the southern hospitality won them over and they make a few more trips down south in the coming years.
