While I was not able to attend closing night at  Selinsgrove , it appears it was a good program even though once again the car support wasn't there . Yes , 24 quality  cars but not what should have turned out tonight . Let's hope whoever takes over as promoter follows Charlie Paige's lead and continues the upgrades and replaces the clay either every year or every other . I do hope this track continues on, as it holds many memories for me . I personally think it is the second best track in central Pa behind Port Royal as far as the actual facility. Thanks Charley Paige , Steve Inch and staff for a job well done .

Better draw huge crowds if you want him to pay a decent purse & point fund to draw good car counts and still have enough money to resurface the track with new clay every year or two. Knoxville does not even do it that often. It is rather expensive to do that. But you knew that, right?

And 5 of the cars were 360's from the saturday series.

Not real sure what these owners / drivers want ? Race paid $10K and  19 - 410 cars show up. Susky paid $4K tonight and 19 cars showed up, of which I believe only 3 cars that were at Selinsgrove. ( Hodnett, Haudenchild and Dewease ) Why did 16 cars show up on a Sunday night race paying less than half of the Selinsgrove race???  So much for the theory of getting home late and going to work the next day playing a row in a teams decision of where to race.

Things that make you say ...Hmmm..

The owners look at the overall pay out. This car count has been pretty status quo for Selinsgrove for the past 10 years so it should not be a big surprise to anyone who follows our sport. Every purse, especially big races are top heavy which is 95% of the time gonna go to the higher dollar teams in the end when all said and done anyway. The only thing that is gonna keep the 410 racing going is to pay less for the top 3, But with an overall higher amount purse and try to spread it out thru the field. However the only draw back is it creates a higher general admission pass for all the fans so we as fans & promoters as well as competitors are caught up in a catch 22 that will continue to get worse b4 better. If u want to be a serious racer & attempt to survive u better line up as many sponsors as possible & just be a richer person as an owner than the general public person. Who wants to pay $25+ to get in everynight?

It could be fixed with a few rule changes, but the local racers who already have what it takes now would only lose more to buy something that is less HP & in turn have to sell the big $45 grand bullet to whoever plus the bigger wing we race now.

If we would have never bowed down & adopted the outlaw rules year in & year out we would have an abundance of race cars but we have been spoiled with the speed factor & the overall everyone has the same shit factor we have now.

All good points made here , I don't know what want  they either ? not attending Selinsgrove and last night at Susky in there own backyard ? as teams don't want to travel like years ago or they can't travel close by ? There use to be a time when we supported all races but not any more because of the economy , costs factors , and team members are not as dedicated as they use to be when it gets near end of season either for various reasons ? There was a time when there was no time off until end of season . Weekly racing maybe come a thing of the past if things don't change , as its not profitable to run weekly .
