Tri-State Speedway Set to Host MARS/Comp Cams Saturday Night!

 

Pocola, Oklahoma – September 8, 2015 - It will be a huge night for late model actions this coming Saturday night as Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Oklahoma as Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts presents MARS DIRTcar and Comp Cams Super Dirt Series

The MARS series last raced at Tri-State Speedway on April 27, 2013 when Raymond Merrill of Sallisaw, OK took the win feature win while now retired Kelly Boen of Colorado won the last time the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series visited the famed three-eighths mile oval.

Two-time and defending series champion Jackson, Jr. of Lebanon, Missouri will lead the MARS DIRTcar series into the “Sooner State” this weekend and currently sits atop the point standings. Other drivers expected to compete on behalf of MARS DIRTcar series include: Justin Asplin, Brandon McCormick, Jeff Roth, Jesse Stovall, Jason Hughes, Josh Hughes, Randy Roth, Leroy Johnson, Brantlee Gotschal and a good shot Will Vaught will also make an appearance.

The Comp Cams Super Dirt Series is led by current point leader Sullivan of Greenbriar, Arkansas. Two-time and defending series champion Kyle Beard is also expected, as are Robert Baker, Clay Fisher, Timothy Culp, Shannon Scott, Chandler Petty, BJ Robinson, Tommy Surrett and Allen Murray.

A host of Oklahoma and Southern Kansas drivers are also expected to compete in at least one of the two Oklahoma events. They include Timms, Brandon Morton, Cliff Morrow, Kip Hughes and several more.

This event will pay $3000 to the winner and $400 just to start the feature finale.

Also competing will be the TSS modified, pure stocks and super stocks divisions.

Pit gates open at 4 PM with the grandstands gates opening at 5 PM. Hot laps will begin at 7:00 PM with racing action slated for a 7:30 PM start time. There will also be an autograph session from 6:30 - 7 PM.

Adult grandstand admission is only $15, seniors (65+) are $13 and kids (6-12) will be $8.00. Pit passes are $35 and $15.

The following are directions to the famed Tri-State Speedway:

From I-40 (traveling west( take I-540 at Van Buren, AR and follow all the way to the OK state line (turns into OK-9) and continue to either (a) OK-112 exit and then left on Race Track Road or (b) turn onto Race Track Road about one mile further west. Race Track Road is a service road on the north side of the highway.

From I-40 (traveling east) take US 59 south at Sallisaw and follow to OK-9. Follow OK-9 east to Race Track Road.
