street stocks? if its a stock car - Steve Smith is the best int he class.
But I'd have to say Stan Constant........although Jet Starr has been challenging him a lot lately. Dark Horse is Ricky Jennings.
a state of confusion.
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a
wouldchuck could chuck would

JET STAAAAAAARRRRRR lol, I had to mess with you guys about the other 2 post. I'm actually pretty sure he never lapped me this year, but he probably would lap me in a stocker. Especially if Lee was in the race too. We've already joked about what the outcome would be like on that deal. Remember, 8 wheels is better than 4. My vote goes to Ricky though, he started out in the fenders. Dad could drive them too though, he won a championship in '78 I believe.

Yes, I believe you are right. I should know. I fought him for it all year. It was one of the best years of my racing career even tho I didn't win the championship. We fought door to door all year. I got into him once and we had a few words about that (he thought I spun him out and I thought he spun himself out on my fender), but other than that it was just good, tough racing.
The last night after the heat races I had no chance of winning the championship. After I bought my pit pass I didn't have a dime in my pocket. My goal for the A was to make enough to buy pizza and beer at Shotgun Sam's (an A feature win paid $37.50). Late in the race Bruce was 3rd and I was 4th. My car was fast but handling squirreley. I figured if I tried to pass Bruce we would have a wreck and it would end the year on a bad note, so I just rode there.
White flag. Coming out of turn two, the two lead cars were side by side. They banged together all the way down the back straight. As they went into three, they split. I just knew Bruce was going to try to split them. He really wanted to win the last one. He did and of course, they came back together and all three of them locked together. I went around and won the last race. Bruce won the championship but winning the last race made the beer and pizza taste better..
Bruce was always a class act. Seems like Ricky ran Hobby Stocks at Goldsby and was always fast.

Haha, he still talks about racing with you Spivey. I've heard some interesting stories about him and Ricky building their own cars. There's still a tree behind the garage where they'd tie a chain to the bent piece and the tree and slam her in reverse to straighten out whatever was bent at the time.

Yeah, I remember the old tree and log chain deal. 20 feet of slack and head for the house. And if you pull it out too far, you just drive up to the tree and push it back a little.
I remember the door to the 10-4 car got bashed in so we took it off and drove over it with the dual wheels of the wrecker a few times. Straightened it out nicely.

Spivey and Brandon, this is great. Love reading stuff like that and I am sure others do too. Mike, wish you would post your stories on the "tidbits from the past" page.
Continuously it would have to be Bill South or Spivey I would think for street stocks.
