As I posted on a different headline......had he stayed in the car he'd be alive today. Case dismissed!

You are a disrespectful looser!! And they will win the suit so you might aswell get used to it! Just like the oj Simpson thing found not guilty and lost the civil suit right after that, it's going to happen this was just a matter of time.

No way this can be compared in any situation to the OJ Simpson thing.

What are drivers supposed to when they wreck if the car doesn't catch fire? Stay in it at least until the safety crew gets there. This whole situation shouldn't even be making the news anymore. Tony = innocent.

I bet Tony Stewart has some good lawyers. I wonder if they'll watch the video?

The one thing about this that is intriguing is that if this goes to court and Tony doesn't settle, he will finally be forced to tell his side of the story and answer a lot of unaswered questions... or risk looking guilty.  Until now, all that has ever been said or disclosed publicly are generalities and his statement that it was 100% an accident.  And we may finally hear sworn testimony from drivers who were in front of and behind Stewart, track officials, etc.

Other than the uncredible, attention seeking few looking for their 15 minutes of fame, most close enough to see what really happened have been silent on the events.

Did he even know it was the car he gave the slider to that brought out the caution?  Did he know the driver was out of the car?  Did he suspect anyone was mad at him?  Did officials warn drivers over the 1 way radio?  Did he see Ward?  If he did when?  Did he have time to swerve, brake, avoid?  Did he hit gas or not?  Did others have trouble seeing him?  Did the driver behind Stewart see him swerve or hit gas?  Did he see Ward jump to grab wing as some have said?

Maybe he has already provided these details in a statement sealed in a case file somewhere, but has the family ever seen or heard them?  While I completely agree the person MOST to blame (if not SOLELY to blame) for Kevin Wards death is Kevin Ward, I think the family deserves to hear what happened stright from the lips of Tony Stewart.

Another case in the world where people can't take responsibility for their own actions!!! If it would have been anyone but Tony, this wouldn't even be a issue!! These money hungry people should be ashamed of themselves. Come people pull your heads out of your a$$ and get a life.

+1    Kevin Ward is 100% responsible for the death of Kevin Ward

This is a terrible tragedy and many lives have been affected. To sit here and point your f***ing fingers and running your mouths, blaming one side or the other is completely reprehensible. This was an incredibly unfortunate accident and honestly NO ONE is to blame. In the heat of the moment, as human beings we've all made stupid mistakes, none of us here are perfect including Ward and Tony. The kids family will live with their sons mistake for the rest of their lives. Tony will no doubt never ever be the same race car driver and he's been scarred for life. Let's just give all the parties involved some respect, let the legal stuff take care of itself. I wouldn't want to be in either sides shoes. Peace?

I cannot agree with that.   The guy who ran across the track and tried to tackle a moving racecar is to blame.   No other way to look t it.   It was a mistake, it was stupid and we are all guilty of both.....but blame has to rest on the guy that instigated the whole situation by making the stupid mistake.

I guess I look at this thing differently than some. Sure he got outta the car, but we've seen this happen at racetracks when drivers get worked up many many times, that night a life was lost. It was an accident, I'll leave it at that. I can't sit here and bash a dead guy, and I can't bash Tony either. Too bad things turned out the way they did. None of us can say what we would do, or how we'd feel, if we were in either Tony's or the families situation. Hopefully a lesson was learned by all and in the future something like this will never happen. All drivers should stay in their cars, try and keep their cool and stay off the track With cars rolling around. I'd prefer if this whole thing went away. But its a huge black eye for grassroots dirt track racing. I know once lawyers get involved things will get ugly.

Bullshit.    I would compare this to getting hit by a drunk driver out on the roads.  He's drunk, it's completely his fault, and then his family sues you?   It's the same thing here.   Kevin Ward caused the whole thing by acting like a jackass.   He is 100% responsible here, not Smoke.    The Ward family wants to get rich off of their son's death even though it was their son's fault, it's called greed.    Sorry if some people can't accept reality.

This deal sucks for everyone involved. The bottom line is Tony is going to write the Ward Family a big fat check before this thing ever see's a court room. No matter if he is innocent or guilty. Its the way the world works today. He might fight it for a while to get the amount of the check down a little. It will be a cold day in hell before his PR Team would let it go to court. The Wards have nothing to lose. Tony on the other hand has his image to protect like it or not. His image is worth way more than the couple million he will pay to settle this deal and make it go away.

Agree with one thing you said! "I wish this thing would go away" the ward family chose for this to not go away. I'm sorry but this whole family is all smoked up and no place to go!! Unless there is danger of fire, you never get out of your car on the race track!! Let alone run toward a moving race car! This kid dug his own grave and now the family can only see $$$$$$$$ because that car was driven by Tony Stewart!!! This suit is dumb and driven by greed!!! Those are the facts!
