Man, Tim Shaffer has had some back luck recently....
For example, starting on the front at Millstream and battling for the lead, both Tim and Travis Philo touch and both wreck out of the race. At the Kings Royal, Tim starts on the pole and leads the first 8 laps and then his motor gives out. At Lernerville Silver cup, Tim has a good run going in the first feature, in the top 4 or so. On a slick track, Sheldon Haud loops it right in front of Tim on turn 4 exit and takes Tim out of contention.
On a positive note, the 45 car has been pretty fast the last month or two. They changed the chassis and found some speed. Something about not getting a good feel with the tires, and I guess the Triple X chassis is working better for them. As a result, Tim won the $10,000 to win Fremont race and has been near the front most nights.
Tim is a great driver and is underated in my opinion. Even though I am an Ohio guy, I have enjoyed watching Tim race the last 5-7 years with the All Stars and also got a huge thrill watching him win the 2010 Nationals. I wish him better luck from here on out!
