Jamie Ball put their side of the story on Twitter. Sounds like typical Knoxville run around. The more I see some of the things that Knoxville does, the more I think Husets running on Saturday's might work.

Sounds like the Ball story is out of line.  To try to bring Moyle into this and drag him through the mud is uncalled for.

Lost any respect I had for them.

In the pits that night there was a lot of people with the "you didn't tell us you were gonna check for tire dope this week" conversations going on after the races.  (and that was in more than a handful of pit-stalls).

IMO, trying to throw the tire dealer under the bus is uncalled for, but it's a press release, it's about spinning the story to benefit you and your team.  Nothing that anyone else wouldn't do either IMO.

I guess I look at it this way.  The track DQ'd them, didn't send out a press release dragging them through the mud (they could have put one on their webpage, sent one to Hoseheads, one to NSSN, etc.) and that would have gotten the attention of their product sponsors.  Instead, they only took their points, $$ and finishing position away.  Seems like the track attempted to be discreet about it for the race team and the race team isn't being discreet about it.

The bottom line is that rules are rules and laboratories test to what they are told to test to (just like taking a drug test at work, if it comes back positive, you can request the "B" sample be tested, but you probably aren't going to win the fight to get your job back if the "b" sample comes back positive too (even if it's a "false positive").

Maybe Hoosier should be the ones taking on the tire testing duties?  They build the tires, so they know what they should test out to correct?  But then again, they have tires that "shrink", and other quality control issues as well, maybe they aren't the right people to ask.

Or, maybe tires should have to be purchased at the track the day/night of the race instead and "controlled" like NASCAR does?  But that will just increase the cost to compete, not sure that's a good answer either.

Pretty cruel to blame the tire dealer trying to make a dollar. I also thought it was pretty bad to criticize Higdays driving skills in the press release for no reason. He drove an awesome race that night!

Oh vande77, you need to run for the fairboard. I love how you always protect the raceway. I am not saying they are always wrong, i just think its precious how you always got their back.

You better check on that, I'm not too popular there, EASports thinks I hate them.  I've missed more races this season than I have my entire lifetime before that. Honestly haven't missed it all that much either.

I was just calling it like I see it.

How did things play out?  DId the track send out a huge press release stating the DQ?  Nope, just notified the team (and the new winner I would hope) from what I can tell.

The TEAM sent out a press release and threw the tire seller under the bus and ran down another drivers skills (IMO).

If the racetrack had the tire checked incorrectly by the lab, it's on them to make it right.  If they did have it checked correctly and the tire came back positive for tire dope, that's on the team (no matter what, it's their responsibility and they ADMITTED in their press release that they put chemicals on the tire (Black Magic Tire Wet).   If I recall, the rule states no chemical altering of tire (that's pretty broad and covers pretty much anything you put on a tire).

Personally, I don't care who is right or wrong in this situation.   I like Devin and think he's a good guy, good driver and hard worker.  I think the track has things they can work on (IMO), but if you go somewhere else to watch races, they have no equal in how they run the program.

If there is tire doping going on in the pit area, doing random checks and DQ'ing cars will police the situation.  If it doesn't, they will have to DQ a winner during Nationals for tire dope to send a message to everyone that it doesn't matter who you are, who you drive for, or what's at stake $400 or $150,000, the rules apply to everyone.

The sad part is that they have to even take tire samples and send them in for lab testing.

If they actually do "random" checks I'd suggest they start doing it now so everyone knows that it's going on. I don't want to see a week later that the winner of the 2015 Nationals Saturday, got Dairy Queen'd, for cheating.  If they do random checks I know there will be complaints that it's not actually random however if you're not cheating, then there should be no worries right?!

This is the same team that had the valve angle issue last year in their 360 so maybe there's something to this. I believe they had a press release on that issue too.

Anyone else notice the 1 car being quick time on a MEDIUM tire in the 410 whilst most other cars were on a much softer and floppier sidewalled H-R-15? Also the 1 car timed 4 tenths faster than the 2nd quick timer and nearly a second faster than half of the field.

I am a henderson fan, im just throwing out some info.

I don't know why you would throw that out there, insinuating that there may be cheating going on.

Maybe other teams have a larger tire budget?  Or maybe.............. the team has figured out what works for them!  Don't go insinuating, go find out the facts if you want answers.

Fair engough, I would say unless they are caught they are not cheating.

I'd guess their biggest advantage in timing well is the Parker powerplant under the hood with it being properly tuned at the track.

Stock Cars and Mods dope tires all the time and they run for less than 400 dollars. Its all about the trophy and bragging rights at that level.  Not defending it, just an observation.

Two things need to be noted here. First, HR15's are not legal at a weekly Knoxville show. They are only allowed when the WoO are in town. Second, The 1 car was also tested the same night the 5J was tested, and it must have come back clean because we would have heard about it by now.

I was expecting an uncivil response.... nice to we can be gentlemen here...sometimes.

Justin Henderson is better than I originally gave him credit for a few years ago. He's smooth, can put it in the top and bottom, and like everyone else said, has great equipment and obviously can set up the car. Based upon previous comments he's apparently good to at saving the tires.

I'd expect to see him in The A main come August 15th, amongh many other Knoxville regulars. I would think we should start seeing Nationals paint schemes soon as it looks like Shane Stewart has already revealed his with Jeff Gordon's throw back colors.
