egras, I'm glad you clarified that as sarcasam. Considering the crimes he commited, he should still be in prison, not jail. Money bought him the reduced charges and time spent in jail. Any one else without the resources made available to him would have gotten years in prison and a felony convection. You can bet NASCAR would require his successful drug program partisipation before returning to competition. I understand that there are those that believe he should be givin a second chance, however I believe if a poll was taken, more would vote that he be banned from any competition until a completion of a drug program and anger management program. To give him the opportunity to return to the sport now, indicates that the crimes he commited were not of any serious nature. I for one would not support his car owners business or any of his sponsors at this time. I would reconsider in a few years, the time he should have spent in prison.

I pretty much whole heartedly agree with your statement. As a recovering alcoholic I believe everyone deserves a second chance (once). Anybody with lesser legal representation and financial means would've been in jail a long time. But , I'm a hard ass I guess. Hell , I won't even eat at Buffalo Wild Wings because of that whole revolving door driver B.S. that went on With the #82 car.

So the three months in jail, and over a year in rehab doesnt count for anything ? I have never been to rehab but I am guessing that is jail like having an addiction.

3 months in jail was what amounted to a slap on the wrist, he should have gotten at least a couple years. As far a year in rehab? I assume that the facility he is ordered to attend, conducts drug test often to assure the patient is staying drug free. If the racing associations and the car owners are not requesting and receiving the results of these test, then they should be. And they should get the results directly from the facility. I do agree with those that support the fact that he is a natural talented driver, exciting to watch and probably does put butts in the seats. However he is a convicted criminal and former drug abuser and he should have to earn his way back into acceptance by the racing community.

Tyler is about the only one I would go pay money to see now that jac hasn't been racing much.... Hope he comes east for the month of money!
Some of you guys seem a little to involved in this guys life. I go to the racetrack to see drivers race. It's entertainment. To get on here and complain about his sentence.. Really??? Wrong board folks, he doesn't make the rules.

Nope, Tyler doesn't make the rules. And since his family has tons of money, apparently he doesn't have to follow them either.

Jealousy comes in all shapes and sizes, If someone close to Tyler who happens to have an Outlaw caliber 410 and believes he's clean and wants to put him in his car, who are you guys to judge? you can choose to boycott the races he's in but other than that it's pretty much none of your business, you all need to worry about your own family's business. Celebrities and Sports figures and rich folk get special treatment in America, this is nothing new, don't hate the celebrities, hate the the convoluted judicial system which dumbstruck down sentencing for those who have big bucks. I'm sure if you haters were in a similar situation you would all choose jail time over paying your way to a lesser sentence, right?

In a word, NO.
As I have stated many times on Tyler Walker threads, he put innocent fathers, mothers, children, families, etc in danger with his bull$hit act. It isn't like he was sitting in a hotel room getting stoned every day. He put innocent lives in danger and not for 2 blocks--three states! He should be in prison. A friend of mine outran a cop for about 15 miles and got a DUI. He did not get rehab and 3 months in jail--trust me! That was almost 20 years ago. He still does not have his drivers license back.
And to echo "Dirt in your beer", I believe in second chances--but Tyler should not yet have a second chance until he did some time in a prison. He should still be in the crowbar hotel. JMO

Agree 100%. Who are we to judge him? Certainly not me - I'll leave the judging to the man upstairs. I wish you the best in life and racing if you read this (I've heard you do). Nobody is perfect. Go T-Dub!

Ha! Actually I agree with a lot of what you say. I know I get under your skin, but you and I would probably get along great at the races! It's all good!

i keep hearing all the NUMEROUS "chances" tyler had and, according to the experts, blew. could someone please explaint to me which chances he had and screwed up? were there other arrests that i missed? or are we referring to the mystery nascar piss test? or maybe a fight in the pits that he didnt start or throw a punch?
yeah, he has done some stupid shit but other than this arrest....what did he do that was any worse than a lot of people do every day....other drivers included.

+1 And that's another one of my major problems with this, not that it matters. He put lives in danger and could have killed people. If he just got busted for possession or something like TK did, no big deal. This young man should be sitting in a jail cell. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Stagger Lee.

Wasn't there a year at Nationals where he left mid-week that was reportedly due to vertigo? Not saying it was something else but I remember posts on here indicating that the vertigo was a cover-up. Maybe someone else can refresh my memory a little better.
