Can everyone stop saying they "paved" the pits.  Paving is using blacktop.  Will what they did help? Who knows.

OK , you posted your uneducated thoughts on every message board . You're a stupid ass. Paving is not always using blacktop. Why not buy your own track . Oh , I know , you're piss poor. Why not help the track owners out and quit bashing everything they do. You , along with a couple others hurt this sport more than even you dumb asses realize. Do everyone a favor and STFU .

As one current track promoter told me just last week. A small handfull of these dumbasses are posting hurtfull remarks about how speedways operate . They have no clue about the hardships of keeping a track afloat. Social media is a powerful tool and some of these dumbasses don't know how much they are actually hurting the gate by posting doom and gloom.

So by going every weekend to 2 sometimes 3 tracks is hurting them??  Family sponsoring a heat race at port Royal is hurting them? Fair enough, wouldn't want to hurt the tracks anymore.   So my friend and i will stay home, and not give the track all the money we spend there and at the end of the year, pull he sponsorship.  My point is, the millings are not going to do anything in the long run, because after a month or so of hesvy haulers and cars constantly moving on it, it's gonna get ripped up.  Ask anyone who has millings in their driveway.  I'm glad they did it, but are they going to keep up with it.

After reading a bunch of forum posts and social media, it is mind boggling to me how some people are and it is no wonder some tracks seem to not try - even when they do something to make the facility better people look for any reason to complain about it.  Williams Grove takes it's fair share of a abuse and some of it well deserved but this year in particular they seem to really be making an effort to better the facility and all you here is complaining on social media and forums.  So it is tailings not black top - who gives a crap, it does the same thing.  The article is spot on, the word paved does not mean black top or asphalt - it has can be defined with several materials:

verb (used with object), paved, paving.

1.
to cover or lay (a road, walk, etc.) with concrete, stones, bricks, tiles, wood, or the like, so as to make a firm, level surface.

I heard this the first step to ensure a built in crowd...as next step is to pave the fans.

You moron . You still don't get it. The constant degrading on social media is what is hurting the tracks. Other people read it and think what you guys say is so bad they don't come. Your one ticket doesn't matter as much as the 2-300 other poeple that read your constant whinning and say 30 - 40 don't come because of it. Understand the math now? Probably not.

Yes ive been saying this for two years now. All the negativity is hurting the sport more than anything. At least around here in pa.... and the track owners and promoters are at fault a little bit also for giving in to it and making unnecessary changes. Not all the changes are unnecessary, but some are done because of the pressure that the fans put out there. Our fans are the best in the world. And sprint racing wouldnt exsist without them, but 90% of them dont see it from the other side as the owners drivers and crews see it.  less complaining and more enjoying needs to happen. But I will say thank you to Justin Loh and Kathy Hughes for a great facilty to race at, and I cant wait to try these pits out tonite!

Anyone that bases their decision on whether they are going to a track or not based on social media comments are very weak minded. And any promoter that is blaming social media for lost fans is just looking for an excuse to place the blame on someone else for problems they refuse to control and or fix.

Paved doesn't mean using blacktop. It is the covering of a surface with stone, brick, concrete or asphalt. This is a cross. It's road millings from torn up roads that have been shaved. it was hauled into Williams Grove and compacted for two days with rollers.

Is this a permanent fix, doubtful. But still, it is a pretty good improvement over what they had, which was dirt and declining stone.

Spot on.  Especially the first part.  If I want to go to a particular track, I'm going to experience it for myself, and form my own opinion.  I'm not not just gonna say "Welp dirtlover6969 said this track sucks, I'm not gonna go."

What hurts the Grove more than anything is BAD MOVES like they did last night!! At 3:33 I checked the weather and the Grove twitter they posted that they just had a heavy 40 minute shower but were still racing,I started to drive from Lingelstown at 4:00 AND PASSED TWO CARS GOING HOME ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER. I called the Speedway and the recording said they were still racing,I pulled over and called friends they said the board said they were cancelled so I called the Speedway 4 more times finally on the last call they changed the recording that they were cancelled???

WHAT TIME DID THEY ACTUALLY CANCEL?

i got a text at 4:34 that said......due to the heavy rain we got earlier and the rain we are getting now, we are forced to cancel tonights racing.

maybe if people would stop bitching...here, facebook, other message boards...and supported the track a little more, they would be more likely to take a chance with bad (?) weather. but if they know they are only going to get a marginal crowd anyway, what is their incentive to take a chance if it looks like rain? and do you really think they sit at the answering machine updating every 5 min?.....yeah, its frustrating to have to wait for an answer but try to keep in mind that you are calling on race day and people are out on the grounds getting ready and doing what they do.....give them a chance....if thats not enough, think of folks like me that drive over 2 hours to get there...not 5-10-15 min.....only to find it is rained out. subscribe to rainedout.com and base your decision on whether or not you get a text that its rained out....

So your saying all the millions or billions cooprations spend on social media doesn't really matter because only weak minded people make decsions based on social media.  Guess your right and the Coke's, Budweiser's, Walmart's, Amazon's, etc of the world do not know what they are doing and you do.  Guess you have a new degree in pychiatry degree in the workings of the human mind that non of these billion dollar cooperations don't know about yet.

People on this board are hard core fans, the casual fan who does not knoow the sport can easily be swayed by social media and its not because they are weak minded, it is because they only hear negative things about the sport through social media (Tony Stewart incident comes to mind).  Keep complaining, tracks will keep closing and we will all be forced to watch Nascar as the only option.

Also, as for the rain out.  Rained like crazy in Mechanicsburg.  Even if they ran the track in, it would have delayed the start and another big band of storms came in around 10, so no way do they get that show in.  I also remember earlier this year they ran a show after it rained and just about no one showed up to watch.

Like I said anyone who bases their decision to attend or not attend a track or race by some anonymous posts on social media is weak minded.

If I would have listened to some of the whiners and haters posting on here and various other message boards about how bad this or that track and race is I would have missed some damn great tracks and races.

You want to be lead around by the social media nose ring more power to you. Good or bad i'll go find out for myself and make my own decisions....

Actually, a lot of social media are not anonymous and your stance on the weak minded subject actually shows your ignorance on the subject.  If the power of social media was not real, the astronomical amount of dollars would not be spent on the promotion and control of social media by just about every cooperation in America.  The simple fact that you are on this site stating your beliefs is 100% proof that you do indeed believe in social media.  Next time you need to make a judgement call on something you do not have much information on (product, restaurant, event, etc.), go ahead and make that uneduacated guess without the help of any product descriptions, personal reviews, product reviews.  See how that works out for you.

I don't know what episode you listened to, but it wasn't this year. Haven't railed on Trail-Way once, and I, personally, never have.
