Not sure how it could work for the promoter. USAC-CRA costs somewhere around $15K to stage a show. Would V-ville (not to be confused with Kaylene over there in Phoenix) pull enough extra people the extra 50 miles up the 91>15 treck from outside the area to make it work at less-than-Perris prices?

$15K means 1,250 bodies at an average of $12 each, and that does not include any turn-on-the-switch costs. There's also the matter of almost -having- to run one or two of the local divisions along with the sprints to bring out the local people to see their relatives and friends, which is what V-ville is -all- about (much as Perris is on the weeks the sprints aren't running).

From the fan's point of view, however, figure this: Food's cheaper in V-Ville, and parking is free, though not plentiful, especially considering all the other stuff that goes on around that little parking lot on a Saturday night including the bikes and the Texano dances. That -is- a real nice third-mile up there. I came up to see the ad hoc sprint show a few weeks ago, and saw them bring that surface into -really- nice shape on a fairly warm evening. The track surface is reminds me of Tulare, though the view from the stands is more like Canyon.

I know Shuman was looking hard at V-ville when the K's, Jim and Keith couldn't handle what was then a $16,500 fee for an SCRA show. Not sure why that didn't happen and he went with the Native Americans down in Barona, which was even further off the beaten path. Casey probably knows why, and if he's still looking at this forum, might be forthcoming. But he's fairly busy right now, I hear. lol
