...410s were dying and 360s were the hope for the future of sprint car racing? With the NSL, ASCoC, and WoO all fielding full, competitive fields everywhere they go, it appears that may have been a bit premature.

360 and 410 fields are going down.Everything has gone up in price except wages and racing purses. This poor economy has taken it's toll.It wasn't that many yrs. ago that the 410 Knoxville Nats. would be close around 150 cars. It's under 100 now.

Could the timing of this post get any more inconvenient after looking at the car count and fan count at the Grove tonight?
not saying it was a bad race...but people are tuning out as quick as the team's that used to run weekly...
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Attica had a full car count and looked pack for the WoO tonight. 41 410s at Farmington for a Thursday night race last night that paid $3K to win. Presumably enough 410s around to fill a NSL show at Moberly, MO and a MOWA show at Lincoln IL that would have been three hours.
Seems the Ohio/Midwest regions are doing just fine.

With all the rain outs this year the car counts have been good .... but later down the season and motors break down then what? These big dollor motors are the problem but nobody seems to want to do anything about it.

There are plenty of cars in PA this year as well as their have been Saturday's where the combined count at Lincoln and Port Royal have been over 60. The car count problems at the Grove seem to have other root causes that have been discussed here before.

There have been between 105 and 110 cars at the 410 Nats the last two years... Still way down though.

I'll throw one more "not so fast" out there. 410 and 360 racing are almost totally dead in the North Texas area, especially on a weekly basis. The only thing we see around here is ASCS shows once in awhile, and I'm grateful we at least have that. And of course the WoO are now at Devils Bowl once a year. Even when the Bowl still had 360s weekly they only had a few of them. Now the only thing going is 305s, and I really don't care for 305s. Just biding my time until I can afford a summer home in Knoxville and retire!

I was there last night and I can't disagree with you, although as others have said the problem seems to be isolated there. Lincoln is averaging 31 cars for local non-sanctioned cars and Port Royal is at 25 the same night. The WoO and ASCoC shows bring 45+. Not sure why there are an average of 56 410s in Central PA every Saturday night, but only low 20s at W. Grove. I get to about 1 race a month anymore and don't follow the politics, am I missing something here? Agree with everyone else regarding costs and the lack of purse money. I was thinking last night when I was paying $14 to get in, will this even cover the purse with this crowd? Outside of a competent government that knows redistributing wealth kills the economy, I'm not sure what the answer is to that right now...

Farmington runs 410's weekly, they supplied alot of their own cars.Moberly wouldn't have had as many cars. The Knoxville guys have been supporting the Nsl well so far.Brown, Lasoski, Loyet, and others raced 360's also, so what some tracks gained others lost as far as cars go.
