The Track Dave Blaney Warned Us About…

Hemby Bridge, NC – The Carolina RaceSaver Sprint Car Series makes their inaugural trip to the scariest race track in the Southeast, possibly the scariest track in the country on Saturday, May 30th when the winged sprints roll onto the stupidly long straight-aways of Lancaster Speedway in Lancaster, SC

Hopefully, that opening paragraph didn’t chase off any would-be winged warriors.

Hopefully, that opening paragraph will help bring in a ton of sprint car fans that are on the fence about making the pilgrimage to South Carolina’s high-banked half mile.

Leading the way will be the most recent race winner and current point’s leader, Matt “The Great White” Hope. The Rock Hill, SC resident lead green to checker at East Lincoln two weeks ago and looks to extend his points lead this weekend after scoping out the track Saturday night during a personal appearance and autograph session.

Hot on his heels, Jacob McLain of Indian Trail, NC looks to impress family and friends of neighboring Union County with his display of car control at lightning fast speed palaces. Call name “The Midnight Rider” is the only driver in the series to have podium finishes in every race this season. This time he looks to stand on the highest podium when it’s all said and done.

Vegas bookies decided the 6-2 odds-on favorite this weekend hails from Denton, NC and goes by the nickname Johnny Rocket. A busted wing valve line ended Johnny Petrozelle’s run at a Top-Five finish during the United Sprint Car Series event back in April. That experience gives the edge to the 2013 series champion and he plans on leaving South Carolina undefeated thus far in 2015 with a series opening win at Sumter Speedway.

Come join the Carolina’s newest sprint car division at the Carolina’s fastest speed plant this Saturday night. Also in attendance will be the always popular Carolina Clash late model series…

I guess you can come for the wings and stay for the models!!

I’m off to Hooters…. Lata…
