Two Big Nights of Race Action This Weekend at the Outlaw!
Midgets, sprints and more galore
FOR IMMEDAITE RELEASE – Okatha-, Oklahoma – April 8, 2015 - It will be a huge weekend double header of dirt track racing action this coming Friday and Saturday night (April 10-11) as Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha will have a little something for every type of race fan.
It all begins this Friday night as regular weekly racing action takes place for the outlaw modifieds, IMCA modifieds, late models, intermediate sport mods, and I- stocks will take to the newly transformed three-eighths mile oval, now under the direction of long-time racing official Chris Smith. Gates will open at 5:00 PM with racing to start at 8:00 PM.
Then it will be a special Saturday night edition of “Open Wheel Saturday Night” as winged sprints, non-wing sprints and midgets are all on the racing card.
The Tulsa based Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) will bring their popular brand of winged sprinters to town for their second point race of the young 2015 race season. Nigel Calvert picked up the season opening victory for the series back on March 28 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore.
The Wingless Oklahoma Warriors (WOW) will make their first ever appearance at the speedway, giving fans a chance at seeing non-wing sprint car action. The series is in their second season of competition and kicked off their 2015 campaign on March 28 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. Veteran Gil White picked up the victory on that night.
The mighty-midgets will also be in competition as the Power I Lucas Oil West Midget series will make their first and only 2015 appearance at the speedway. Drivers from throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri are expected. Back in March the tour opened the season at Port City Speedway in Catoosa and it was Christopher Bell sweeping both nights of the program.
General admission tickets are just $12; seniors and military just $8; ages 6-12 are just $5 and ages 5 and under will be admitted into the grandstands for free. Gates open at 4:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:30 PM start time.
