Caney Valley Hosts USMTS This Friday Night!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Caney, Kansas – March 17, 2015 - Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kansas is set to host the best modified drivers in the region this coming Friday night, March 20, as the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS makes their fourth annual appearance to Kerry Gorby’s quarter mile clay oval.
It will be the lone appearance for the USMTS with the top modified drivers from across the region looking to claim the $3000 first place prize.
Jason Hughes claimed the first event held at the speedway back on August 15, 2009 while Johnny Bone, Jr. claimed victory back in 2010. After a four year hiatus it was Rodney Sanders taking the victory in route to his second straight USMTS national championship.
Over forty drivers from at least seven different states are expected to compete at Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway as the track will be the first top of a three race weekend for the series. After Friday night’s racing action the tour will head to Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas on Saturday night, followed by a Sunday night appearance at 1-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri.
The Holley Iron Man series featuring the USRA B-mods and USRA stock cars will also be in competition.
Gates on Friday night will open at 4:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time. General admission tickets are $20; for adults; $5 for seniors and ages 7-12 and children 6 and under get in free. All pit passes are $35.
