Greg Wilson has committed to run in the O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series event at Bloomington this Friday. In addition to the regulars on the tour, there may be several top shelf racers in attendance....if any of the rumors hold up.

Tradition Meets Excitement as Midwest All Stars Roar into Bloomington August 24th

Another piece of history will be made on Friday, August 24th, as winged sprint car racing's fastest-growing series, the O'Reilly Midwest All Star Series, makes it's first-ever stop at Bloomington Speedway, one of America's fastest quarter mile tracks.

The Midwest All Stars, featuring the "Best in the Midwest" has hosted well over one hundred different drivers in its eleven previous events in its inaugural season, including a high count of forty-six competitors at Paragon Speedway. Jerrod Hull, of Sikeston, MO. has won three features and leads the points chase over Rob Standridge and A.J. Bruns, both from Springfield, IL. Tim Montgomery of Misouri and Ryan Bunton of Illinois round out the top five in the race for the championship. They will all be attendance at Bloomington along with two-time series feature victor Jimmy Hurley and series stalwarts Jeremy Standridge, Jason Keith, Tiffany Wyzard, Tyler Thompson, Cory Bruns and Joey Montgomery. The series has also attracted numerous "outsiders" who have dropped in attempting to wrestle the $2,000 winners check away from the series regulars, among them are series feature winners Danny Smith, Chad Blonde, Kaley Gharst and Tommy Worley, Jr. With so many sprint car teams and drivers based in close proximity of Bloomington, look for many of the track's regulars and other Hoosier state competitors to be in action on the track's meticulously manicured red clay high banks, where the winged sprint car track record is under ten seconds.

Fans will be treated to an exciting program with the Midwest All Stars, including its signature single lap qualifying, heat races, Fast Dash, Last Chance race and forty-lap Feature. With a full field of winged sprint cars doing battle in side-by-side fashion at nearly one-hundred miles per hour with 800 horsepower engines, fans will be in for thrill-a-second action at every turn.

Southern Indiana is renown as the birthplace of winged sprint car racing. The Midwest All Stars are bringing back the excitement and tradition of big-time racing with each stop during the 2007 season. Be sure to be a part of the action as the greatest spectacle left in racing…winged sprint cars slicing and dicing on one of America's most challenging and quickest racetracks…brings the excitement to Bloomington Speedway.

Ticket prices are only $15.00 for the event. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Pit admission is $30.00. Benton Ridge is as much Findlay as Sylvania is Toledo. Actually I heard he had two flat tires on the trailer in Dayton on his way to Bloomington...so the flood thing was just a stab in the dark. I heard Hamp's shop is (was) under 4' of water - that can't be good.
