2015 Southern Oklahoma Speedway Schedule Announced!

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Geary, Oklahoma – January 7, 2015 - Twenty-three weekly Saturday night point races along with several exciting special events dot the 2015 track schedule for Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore, Oklahoma as John and Nicky Webb continue to bring some of the most exciting events to Southern Oklahoma and North Texas region.

USRA type modified; limited modified; hobby stock; stock car and the new economy limited modified division will compete virtually each and every Saturday night while the popular late model division will make appearances seven times during the season.

Special events include annual appearances by the Oil Capital Racing Series (OCRS) sprint cars; United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS); Texas Outlaw Modified Series (TOMS), Sprint Series of Texas (SST) as well as the annual Monster Truck weekend.  

The first play day is set for March 7, 2015 while the weekly race season kicks off on Saturday night, March 24, featuring all the weekly divisions mentioned above – minus the late models. There will be a car show earlier in the afternoon with time and location to be announced.

The OCRS will make their only appearance of the season on Saturday night, March 28 before the track takes the following Saturday night off for Easter weekend, April 4.

Weekly race action resumes on April 11 with the late models making their first appearance to the three-eighths mile oval on April 18. Other dates the “gladiators” of the late model division will compete are; May 9; June 20; July 18; August 15 and September 18-19.

The TOMS modified tour will make their first of three appearances on May 2 and with return engagements on June 6 and August 1.

A special Friday night edition of racing action will happen on June 26 as the USMTS speedweek tour will make their annual appearance along with the limited modified division. There will be no weekly racing action Saturday night, June 27.

Weekly race action will take a break on the weekend of July 10-11 when ever popular Monster Trucks will make their annual appearance.

A “back to school” special event is planned for August 15 with half price admission to the grandstands with non-perishable food items donated at the front gate.

The SST sprints make their annual appearance on August 22 while the 2015 weekly point race season concludes on September 5.

The 11th annual Jordan Page Winter Nationals are set for September 18-19 while the 3rd annual “Scotty Bobby Shootout” featuring hobby stocks, stock cars and limited modifieds will take place on Friday and Saturday night, October 09-10.

The 2015 race season at S.O.S. will conclude October 21-24 with the second annual USMTS Halloween Havoc, won last year by Oklahoma’s own Thomas Tillison, Jr.

Registration for all divisions are now being accepted and encouraged.
