I ran across an article from 2011 when Danny Schatz and Ron Shaver were trying to market this new engine package.  It seemed to get a lot of attention when it was introduced and then fizzled out.  Just curious if anyone is still using the engine and whether it really ended up being competitive against 410's?  Thanks.

I beleive Schatz won a  feature with one on a local show and I beleive Moyle worked on one with Burch but the idea of saving money with more cubic inches which was allowed at Knoxville at the time never caught on.It was a great idea to make it more afforable but affordable and racing never seem to work.Too many high dollar motors that would be obsolete.I still beleive the shorter the track the better the racing.

Schatz went from tailback of the World Challenge at Knoxville to 6th (I believe) on a one lane, rubber down track...During the day... IMO....Just IMO....Sprint car racing missed the boat on this one. It was an affordable package that made decent numbers and the car drove like a sprint car (not horsepower tight like a 305).....

I saw Schatz race it many nights on the Fargo track after they cut it down in size and it always looked good to me, now given that is with one of the best sprint car drivers out there running it but to me it proved the motor could be competetive. I'm not sure it would stand up against WoO competition but I think it would be fine for local racing on a weekly basis. I'm sure Schatz would still run the thing locally if the fair board hadn't decided they'd rather shut the Red River Valley Speedway down than collect a payment every year and let someone use it.
