With the King retiring and supporting Kraig's ride over the past few years. Will Kraig be back on the tour next year?

I asked Dana Kinser this very question at the Knationals, and she said it all depends on sponsorship??

Steve has been pretty clear that he will help Kraig race but he isn't going to spend his retirement money funding a race car. Kraig will need to earn the $'s to get a ride.

Kraig sure hasn't shown much since he came back to sprint cars. Maybe he should make like Mark Kinser and retire young.

With the possiblilty of ruffling more than a few feathers, I really don't see Kraig staying very long in spirntcars. Since his return, he has been at best a back marker and just doesn't show he has much more to offer. Him and Cody Darrah both I expect will be looking for a change in racing careers as they have not shown enough to keep their rides over the last couple of years.

I haven't won any sprint car features either--and I think he should retire too. I think you will find a lot of people on this board have not won a single sprint car feature and would agree that he should retire.
Any other questions? Or do we only get to talk about things that pertain to the area where we make a living? I already belong to a machining forum and they are not anywhere near as interesting as sprint car forums.
I can tell you (not having won a single sprint car feature--which seems to be the resounding theme here) that as a casual observer (or fan as they're called) he is not going to be a sought after prospect in the coming years--seeing as he doesn't win anymore.
To sum up--I am a machinist. I haven't won a sprint car feature. I watch Kraig Kinser race. He doesn't win. I am good at math and economics. He won't have an easy time getting sponsorship. He should or will have to retire.

Yes I agree with you. I don't think Kraig is a bad person, he has lost something since coming back to sprintcars that he had before he left. Sometimes a step backwards is not a good thing.

Not sure he has had the team that most of the other teams has. He went really good at the nationals.

I totally agree with you. I also don't think Kraig is a bad guy--just the opposite actually. He was very friendly in the pits at Beaver Dam a couple of years ago--then he went out and kicked everyone's ass from like 11th place or something. (?) That is not the point though. He has not gotten the results back since he tried the NASCAR stint. Ride or not. Money or not. I don't see him doing any national tours in the near future anyways. Can he drive a sprint car? Sure. He is just not high on the list for big sprint car owners to sign. As far as the Darrah deal, that change is way overdue. If Darrah is still in his ride next year then I am going to start thinking he has pictures of Kasey Kahne.
It's just business. Not personal.
(and for those wondering--no I still have not won an A feature in a sprint car before--but I can type)

One thing to keep in mind about Kraig is that he does race against the best in the business every single time he hits the track. There's no question that his results definitely aren't what they were before he went to stock cars but I still think he's probably better than most. I think he'd almost definitely win more races if he ran regionally with the Renegade series or in Central Pa or something. I'd like to see him find his groove and become a contender. A Kinser winning races and contending for championships can only be a good thing for sprint car racing as a whole.

Kraig and Steve both have struggled the last couple of years. Some of the blame can go to their motor program. Scott Girkin's motors are not as strong as they used to be.

So because he has a hard time winning WOO features he should quit?? There wouldn't be too many left if that applied to everyone...

When you look at Kraig's complete situation, no one that is involved with that team wants to see it where its at right now. Steve did admit at knoxville they need to step up things for the 11K team, and it sounded like that is what is going to happen? If you look at Steve Kinser Racing as a whole, 2006 was about when things for both teams started to slip a little. Not sure if its motors or maybe a combination of other things that has put both teams in the spot they are in today?? JMO but I think Steve himself, has maybe put they teams in the spot they are in ? I don't mean this in negative way either!! Steve has been very loyal to friends and family to help make this a team effort!! but sometimes its tough to make changes when it friends and family!!! The teams have had alot of success over the years, and thats a fact by looking at the numbers! When things were good, he looked like a genius, but when they are not, his back is against the wall. I wish Steve and Kraig the best of luck into the future!! Steve Kinser Racing has had to scratch their way out of down times before and I'm sure they will do it agian.
As a Steve Kinser fan from the first WoO Race I attended back in 1981, until now. These last few years have been kinda tough to watch! So in the grand scheme of things, imagine how it's been for himself and the team?? In the end, the last few years are not going to tarnish what he has done for the sport, nor all that he has accomplished!!! With 2014 coming to a close, and 2015 just around the corner, best wishes to Steve, Kraig and the entire Steve Kinser Racing family. LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!! And lets not forget the pressure Kraig is under every day just because he is the king's son!!!

No, absolutely not--he shouldn't just quit. However, when his dad disbands the team due to no funds and sponsorship and no one is standing in line to sign him--he will have to quit.
? Unless he has the funds to run out of pocket--but I don't think he does.
