DAMION GARDNER GOES 190-MPH + IN SHAKEDOWN RUN AT BONNEVILLE!

(Concord, CA, September 8, 2014) After driving all night from Santa Maria, California where he won the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series main event on Saturday, Damion Gardner breezed to an impressive 190-MPH shakedown run on the Bonneville Salt Flats in northwestern Utah on Sunday.

Gardner and the crew of the “Green Demon” sprint car were very pleased with the initial run.  It was his first run on the salt in 13 months and his exit speed was 190.656-MPH at the five-mile mark.  The run showed that the redesign of the car for this year’s effort had solved the stability problems they encountered in 2013.

Encouraged by the prowess of the first run in the “Green Demon,” the team was poised to go out and up the speed on a second run on Sunday.  However, as they prepared to go for that second run, they detected a broken left rear torsion bar link and took the car back to the pits for repairs.

The weather looks favorable for several passes to be made on Monday with the high to be about 84 degrees and the humidity to be about 46%.  There is a chance of some thunderstorms on Monday night, but Tuesday should be partly cloudy with a high of 79 degrees.

Keep an eye out for update reports which will keep you posted on Damion Gardner’s quest at being the first person to drive a sprint car at 200-MPH.

Everything, including the disappointment of the rain-off is being shot for an exciting documentary titled, “The World’s Fastest Sprint Car.”  The made for TV production is being written, directed and produced by Surf N’ Sprint and will be shot by the award winning racing specialists from LoudPedal Productions. You can take a sneak peek at the documentary at the following link.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp1JvkD9aaI&feature=youtu.be

Just an update.  Damion went 202 + this afternoon.  He is hoping to get one more run in today.  If not, he will make some passes on Tuesday.  Full details to follow.
