For those of you who, like myself were lucky enough to attend, as well as those of you who watched on XSAN TV, what are your thoughts?

I thoroughly enjoyed almost every minute of the whole weekend (minus the rain of course).

I was really impressed with how the drivers handled the 3-wide start. Not 1 really bad incident until I believe lap 27!! To those of you who predicted doom and gloom, I say "NEENER NEENER NEENER". wink

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

I enjoyed all 3 programs and was surprised at how well the track held up for the day race on Monday.

I watched it for a while on Saturday night.  It was pretty good racing with a few familiar drivers from Arlington, Minnesota, so there was some name recognition.  305's are a notch slower but not that far off from a 360.  It was entertaining racing and kept my attention until I crashed and burned in the recliner.  wink

Thanks for the replies!

Stan; just an FYI, but prior to this last weekend's action the difference in lap times between the 360's (Including ASCS events) and the 305's was under 1 second on our 1/3 mile. The 305 record was lowered twice on Friday night so the gap is narrowed even further. Maybe it's my eyes, but I have 1 heck of a time telling the difference between the 2 classes at Eagle as far as speed goes.

One second on a 1/3 mile track puts you one or two laps down in a 25 or 30 lap race that would be hard not to see.

Saw the highlights from the Monday afternoon championship feature from the aerial view per the Eagle Raceway facebook page.  Pretty wild with 27 cars, 3 wide starting that race.

Like the rules package the IMCA 305's provide for the racers. Only thing that I would like to see changed is going to 11:1 Compression rule like Knoxville & 34 Raceway's in Iowa, & also in Ohio/Pennsylvania.

I passed a 1975 Ford Pinto the other day on the highway. I was going about 65mph and I'll tell ya I couldn't really tell the difference between it and the 5.0 Mustang that passed me earlier.

Cheers!

That 1 second per lap difference is easy to see when the 360's and the 305's are racing together (which they don't do).  The 305's do appear a little slower but on the high banked 1/3 mile, the racing is normally very good.

My biggest gripe is that the 305's just don't have that same engine roar as the 360's or the 410's.  No big deal as long as the racing is good.

The 305's aren't so great on the 1/2 mile at Knoxville.  Not bad, but you can see the difference much easier when the 360's and 410's are on the same program.

As an Eagle fan, I'm just damn glad to have some competitive sprint car racing that I can see weekly!

I saw a dope smoking drunken bum the other day and he was a LOT different than Warren Buffett when I saw him. wink

The biggest advantage that I can see for the 305's is that the racing is better. The difference between the cars is so minimal that set-up and driver are the deciding factor; not $$!. Jack Dover even stated that the reason he won was that he hit the set-up just right.

If you weren't there, you missed some truly great competition in the 305's.

Warren Buffett wouldn't know a good time if it was sitting on his face! That bum is most likely enjoying his life smoking some dope and drinking booze...much less stress than that square old codger from Omaha.

Cheers!
