TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY ANNOUNCES

2015 RACING SCHEDULE

  • NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Duck Commander 500 Returns To Saturday Night Race On April 11 On FOX
  • AAA Texas 500 Sprint Cup Chase Race Set For Sunday, Nov. 8, On NBC
  • Verizon IndyCar Series Returns For 19th Season With Firestone 600 On Saturday, June 6, On NBC Sports
  • Port-A-Cool National Dirt Track Events Slated For May And September

FORT WORTH, Texas (August 26, 2014) - Texas Motor Speedway's 2015 racing schedule returns to its more traditional look as April's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Duck Commander 500 moves back to a Saturday night race while the AAA Texas 500 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race and Verizon IndyCar Series Firestone 600 fill their familiar slots.

The 2015 season opens April 9-11 with the Duck Commander 500 NASCAR doubleheader weekend featuring the Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Duck Commander 500 returns to a Saturday evening race on April 11 after being shifted to a Sunday afternoon event this season to avoid a conflict with the NCAA Final Four men's basketball tournament that was held in Arlington.

In a tradition that began in 2011, the Duck Commander 500 will be the fourth Saturday evening Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway and televised live on FOX in prime time. It will be an all-evening weekend of races as the Nationwide Series O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 will be held Friday, April 10, and broadcast live on FOX Sports 1.

The Firestone 600 INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader returns for its 19th season and will be held June 4-6. The Verizon IndyCar Series Firestone 600, "America's Original Nighttime IndyCar Race," will be held the evening of Saturday, June 6, and be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network. The event also will feature a new logo for the 2015 season. This will be another all-evening weekend of races with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series WinStar World Casino & Resort 400 set for Friday, June 5, which will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1.

The racing season at Texas Motor Speedway concludes Nov. 5-8 with the AAA Texas 500 playing a pivotal role in determining the four drivers that will vie for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in the season finale at Homestead, Fla.

The AAA Texas 500, set for Sunday, Nov. 8, is part of the three-race Eliminator 8 segment of the playoff-style, 10-event Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The AAA Texas 500 will be the middle event of the three-race playoff that will determine the four drivers of the eight remaining that will earn the right to contend for the Sprint Cup Series crown at Homestead. The AAA Texas 500 will be broadcast live on NBC.

The AAA Texas 500 highlights a NASCAR tripleheader weekend that includes the Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series. The NCWTS WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 will be held the evening of Friday, Nov. 6, and broadcast live on FOX Sports 1. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, and like the AAA Texas 500 will be broadcast live on NBC.

The Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track also will play host to two national events. The Port-A-Cool Texas World Dirt Track Championship returns, but will move from its traditional early March date to May 15-16. The event will feature three divisions of racing - Limited Modified, Modified and SUPR Late Model. The Port-A-Cool U.S. National Dirt Track Championship will be held Sept. 11-12 with Limited Modified and Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Series competition.

The 2015 season also will showcase Texas Motor Speedway's third generation of its "No Limits" marketing campaign. The speedway has "created" its own town of No Limits, Texas that will be prominent throughout the race weekends at the venue and its encompassing 1,500 acres.

Season tickets for 2015 go on sale beginning Monday, Oct. 27, and start as low as $270 for adults and $150 for children 12 and under. For more information, contact the Texas Motor Speedway ticket office at (817) 215-8500 or visit www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
