Hey everyone, this is my first time posting here so please bear with me. I wanted to share a video i took from a camera mounted INSIDE my helmet this past weekend (8/16/14) to show how little visability we actually have from side to side in the racecar and i believe this is the closest you will get to the real thing without actually being strapped in one yourself. I'm not sure if i uploaded it right on here so if I didn't, please take a moment and check out my youtube page, it is on there. Thankyou in advance for any help or pointers on things im doing wrong posting this. Thanks for watching, and enjoy.
My youtube Channel name is Brad Haudenschild
I also have it on my Facebook account. Same name on there as my Youtube account.

Awesome video. Probably the best in car (drivers view) ever done. That really shows how bad vision gets at times. Also how much your getting tossed around and how chaotic it can get in the car. Good job.

Awesome job! Track was a bit rough, wow. Eagerly waiting to see the next chapter when you try it out at night. Adding darkness and the shadows from the lights will give both the daytime and evening vantage points.

Whoa! rodeo up, a bit rough, but hey , a good shot of what some think is a pure ez of vission, the camera doesnt do some things the human body will conform for, such as vibration ect, BUT, with that said ther eis still several vulnerables drivers face at any givin night, one thing that comes to mind on this particular event is the steering wheel almost getting ripped out of you hands on a rough track, i can almost feel it in the vid, a drivers arms tence up and grip the wheel hard, and you'll notice alot of drivers sweating because of the core tence thier muscles get after a 10-20 lap flex, just waiting for the next rut to swallow thier car and keep it on all four, the other thing i noticed is you were in clear traffic quickly, being behind several cars your vission with full shield of mud is,difficult, finding the time on a rough track to wheel the car with one hand is a chore ,even for a moment to pull a tearoff, good vid, i hope it helps some understand the lack of vission, and anything behind you is pretty much nill to be seen, as a spectator alot of people see the whole picture, as a driver you see purely what is directly infront of you, and thats it.

Open face helmets and no visor/shield. I stop complaining about track issues when I think about how it used to be. We have it pretty easy now.

Very cool video. Looking forward to checking out the next one. I'd love to see someone use Google Glass to take an in-helmet video. That would probably be the most accurate representation we could get. Graham Rahal used one for a lap of the Indy Road Course and it's very cool technology.
