I have for some strange reason have felt compelled to watch this video over and over. I still can't get around the fact that people claim to hear the revving before the contact with Ward is made. I hear it when it appears Ward's feet and/or legs are underneath the tire. Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember a co-worker of mine who races tell me that if just the R rear tire is lifted its as if you're in neutral because the same weight jacking and stagger would not be applied to the left rear. So in this case the car revs when its on top of the body thus steering the car right when impact was made which according to some unreasonable half-wits also occured before the impact.
A couple side notes:
I've grew up around racing, sat in cars, rode in cars, one thing that is universal whether you are short like Brad Sweet or tall like say Brent Kaeding, the vision is always worse looking to the right. I've seen the taller drivers cut or round off the right wing on the corner because quote, "I need to see more"
Every track has "that guy" you all know him or have seen him. He causes wrecks, blames others then acts like a drama queen on the track running at others. Ive always held my breath during cautions when I've seen this because I knew this would happen someday. I know people who pleaded with Fred Brownfield to not stand so close to the track because he was endangering himself.
Wouldn't shock me if Tony didn't see him, changing a tear off maybe, checking guages, looking to the left at an official directing something...who knows. Wouldn't surprise me if Tony didn't even know it was Ward who spun out.
Lot of what-ifs, and theories out there. We need to stay tough and not let the media beat our sport down and lump it in with NASCAR and other major sanctioning bodies. If you listen to radio and they talk about it, defend the sport that we love and don't allow ignorance.

Been in the sport for over 20yrs. & One glaring thing that POPS OUT is everyone else seems to get by the accident except Mr Stewert why is that, both are at fault, but to sit here & listen to people try taking up for stewert when he should be out front himself making some sort of statement hard to do when you know you should have not been any where near Kevin coming around turn two the one that was put the next day that was BS didn't come from tony it came from his lawyers & now comes out & lets us know that he isn't racing in indiana this wk who gives a Sh## where your racing!

mopar, for a newbe's first post, your's is about the dumbest collection of blabbering that I have read in a while. Bad enough that the media is attempting to find fault somewhere in what Tony did or didn't do, now some of the public, claiming to be racing experts, are making complete asses of themselves. Please don't post again.

What the hell do you mean everyone else missed Ward?????? There was only one other car, the 45 car. Sir claim you have been around 20 years, big deal that doesn't make you an expert. And as everyone can tell by your post of " everyone else seems to get by " YOU SIR REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Just because you don't like Stewart doesn't mean he hit this kid on purpose. From looking at the lighting of this track the ESS should have not been racing there anyway. I know a person has died but that does NOT mean it is someone else's fault.

People just need to quit talking about this, us as fans and you as drivers were not in tony stewart's shoes and do not know what he was thinking or what he saw.

There is a slow motion video out there that shows it actually looks like Kevin jumped on the car. You can see his hand holding on top of the wing....he more than likely slipped off the nerf bar. The slow motion video does shed more light on this.

There was one video that was changed and dr up to have the rev from before you could see tonys car to be when hitting ward. It went to slow mo right before contact and had that earlier throttle blip at a fake time over and over. This is all bad enough without some low life pos dr up a video to make it worse. Whoever made that vid needs to be talked to by the police as well.

I didnt want to be the first to say it and everyone call me crazy, but that was one of the first things I thought when I slowed the video down. I know it sounds extremely crazy but it almost looked like he jumped onto the car grabbing the wing. Probably not what happened but once I saw it I couldnt stop thinking about it.

Why do i get the feeling the same moron keeps making up user names posting the same thing about this incident. There has been what now, two maybe 3 new users that have commented now saying almost the same exact thing and they each have only made a couple of posts on here. Each one of them say it was Tony's fault because he either should have hit the breaks, he accelerated and wanted to hit Ward on purpose or scare him, he should not have been running where he was or some other BS. Might be the same person or maybe there are that many idiots out there who think that Tony did this on purpose. When professional criminal investigators say in multiple press conferences that they have not found any evidence based on the video posted and another video that has been sent to them, that any criminal charges need to be filed. You have many professional racecar drivers that race sprint cars that say that they do not see anything that would suspect that he did it on purpose. Too many people letting there distaste for this guy control there feelings. Good article by Ed Hinton today on ESPN. http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/11340370/rush-judge-tony-stewart

More likley after not being able to get out of the way he was trying to grab onto anything to keep from getting run over by the right rear.

If you watch closely, you'll see a glimps of Kevin almost behind Tony's car, then hanging on the top wing, then sucked down in front of the RR tire.
In other words, was Tony past Kevin when he jumped towards Tony's top wing?
If so, this is a game changer and shame on those who have been mother fucking Tony. Shame on the media. Shame on the blood lust.

Please stop posting and let this crap go to the bottom, NOBODY,NOBODY,NOBODY knows what happened except Kevin and Tony, all this bullshit of arguing with dimwits who are hoping and praying that Tony did this on purpose just gives these idiots a platform to spew their hate, let it go, dont respond to the ignorance, we dont need to defend anyone, the people who matter (police, investigators, detectives) all see it as a horrible accident and see no evidence that Tony did anything negligent or on purpose. Let it go and let the professionals do there job.

Has anyone thought of this: perhaps tony was adjusting something in the cockpit of the car not expecting a human being to be in the middle of the racetrack...maybe he looked up and by then it was too late. If you watch drivers under caution many of them are checking yheir safety equipment or gages. Briefly distracted.

this vid shows tony's car come into frame sooner before ward got hit than another vid i saw. from this vid i seems tony did turn down to try to avoid ward.
it does seem like ward grabbed the top wing. hard to say if ward was clipped by the right front, or slipped or was tring to smack the wing as tony went by. the back of tony's car seemed to bounce to the left after ward was hit.
you can hear the audio in this slow motion vid and it is hard to try to relate it to tony's car as the rev sound doesn't correspond to any of the movements of tonys car. hard to know if the audio is in sync as it is slow motion.
to indy and beyond!!
