The preliminary 2008 WoO schedule is posted at worldofoutlaws.com. I was shocked to see that WoO won't be headed to Calistoga next year.
And this isn't a "TBA" situation... the entire month of September is booked. On the weekends following the Nationals, WoO will hit North Dakota, Edmonton, Skagit, Chico on Labor Day Weekend, Topeka, Eldora, and WIlliams Grove. No room for a future Calistoga addition.
Did I miss something? Has this been a known situation for a while?
Does anybody have more info?

It is August of 2007, in six months there will probably be a revised schedule with more dates added. I believe it is WAYYY too early to be worried that a track isn't on anybodys schedule for 2008.

I heard Tony Stewart bought the land, and plans on becoming a vintner...
WoO Whine, has a nice ring to it!

no conveyor belt?
Race the car three races. If you don't like it , for
any reason, return it, without damage, and we'll
refund all your money, build you a new car, or better
yet, bring me someone else's design and I'll use that
to build your next ride!

the conveyor belt idea had to be scrapped due to an unusual occurrence. it seems once you race in pa a few times the locals claim you as posse and the conveyer belt will not take you past the pa boarder before it stops.lol. (man i have gone and done it now.lol.)

I actually looked at their 2008 schedule, instead of relying on the gospel according to HH and lo and behold...
March 7/8 are open...following a weekend event in Tulare.
October 11/12 are open...preceding a trip to that shit hole in Watsonville (I predict a BK win...and slide job)
October 24 is also open...isn't Calistoga on the way to Manzanita?
Maybe Robert Mondavi (fancy version of Carlo Rossi for the PA POSSE) has the track booked for the Napa Valley Concourse de Dirt....

Faster - (Actually listening to Belted, Buckled and Booted now),
The 7/8 would be the weekend of Mini-Gold cup unless they decided to hold it the fourth weekend in March. Doubt it though. Also the Bar area is pretty rainy that time of year.
Oct 11/12 could work but you are getting into iffy weather again for the Bay area.
October 24th, definitely not on the way to Manzanita. The PAS maybe.
I will bet someone (as in the first taker) beer for the weekend that Labor Day will be either USAC/CRA(I can hope) or a Civil War double header.

John - Why do have to be so logical...
OK, you got me on the weather thingy in March, and I don't believe that JP will be moving the Mini-Gold Cup.
Weather's not THAT bad in October though???
I know Calistoga's not on the way to Manzanita...in 1980-something or other a drunk driver (to this day I still swear it was BRR) crossed the double yellow on HWY 29 and ran into a trailer I was pulling for the late, not so great Tony Montana...I mean D.C.
I think Calistoga may have gone the way of Kings Speedway...ADIOS.

Not sure why you are ripping on Ocean (Watsonsville) with a WOO date. I will take all the WWO dates I can in the NorCal. Hell, I say add dates at Placerville and Petaluma as well.

Osfan,
Tracks have to be able to afford to put on a WoO event. And yes the weather is very iffy in March.

John, I hope your right with USAC/CRA, because most Civil War teams wouldn't be able to afford a $2500 tire bill for two $300 to start races on two consecutive days. At least now they get about eight weeks to save up or stock pile tires.

O-Town Sprint Fan...not really ripping Watsonville...I just don't care for the facility, access, former promoters...
I hear what you're saying though about wanting to access the shows! I'm spoiled, and take some of my opportunities for granted.
What in God's name was in my last cup of coffee???

I don't know what happened to Calistoga in recent years but i was at the WoO show last year and there was plenty of empty seats, maybe because of the split last year and also because not enough of the local drivers want to run there because of the expense which results in a low car count.. All that probably means not enough return after paying the sanction fees, purse, etc... I remember going to NARC shows in the 60's and i could not even buy tickets for the main grandstand, it was sold out. Same with there first WoO show in 1986.
Faster Pussycat.. Have you been to Watsonville lately? It's nothing like previous years.. They have completely turned that place around..

Geeeezzz...alright, in all honesty, I attended a 360 and a GSC410 race there earlier this year, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Shhhhhhhh, if you look real hard this evening, you may see me in the pits as well.

Calistoga needs to book a USAC-CRA race. I am quite sure they would pack the place.
