OCRS Manufactures Performance Rankings Presented By: Sprintdudes.com Eagle Expands Wings – Engine Lines Hold Status Quo
John Lemon OCRS Public Relations Tulsa Oklahoma (July 12, 2014) – As the Oil Capital Racing Series takes a weekend hiatus this week prior to next weeks Kansas/Oklahoma doubleheader, we look into the recently updated OCRS Manufactures Performance Rankings presented by Sprintdudes.com. Eagle Motorsports went scoreless for two straight weeks (6/14 & 6/20) but since then, the Nebraskan manufacture has been strong. Alex DeCamp was a single turn away from his third score of the season at the South Coffeyville Speedway but the four points DeCamp earned Eagle for his runner-up finish that week allowed Eagle to go from a one point lead over Maxim Chassis to a four point lead. Last Saturday night at the Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway, it was that cagy veteran, four time OCRS champion Jamie Passmore, stealing the win on a last lap pass in his Eagle racer. Fred Mattox drove a good hard race to bring his XXX mount in second. That, coupled with Maxim not in the top five, pushed XXX into the second spot in the chassis category. Eagle leads XXX 36pts – 30pts while Maxim holds third with 27 points. The F5-Twister with its 23 points leads ART chassis (20 pts.) for the fourth spot in the rankings. In an oddity, the top three engine builders in the series did not score a single point between them last week. STK Racing Engines, DSO Racing Engines and Brand Racing Engines still hold those top three spots but with a small level of comfort. Passmore, who is racing a limited schedule in 2014, gave Wesmar Racing Engines their first OCRS score of the season. Mattox, who builds their own engines, broke into the rankings with their first points of the season with his second place run. There is such a diversity of engine builders in the OCRS series that next weekends double header events could turn a few positions around. On the other hand, if STK and DSO specifically have a strong weekend, they could put some distance on the rest of the field that could make for a difficult deficit for their peers to close ground.
