A Fans Guide for the 58th Annual Hutchinson Grand Nationals!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – July 8, 2014 - The 58th rendition of the famed O’Reilly Auto Parts Hutchinson Grand Nationals presented by Mel Hambelton Ford atop the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas is coming up on Friday and Saturday night, July 25-26, and while the “Mid-Summer Classic” will see a new format and largest pay ever in this events illustrious history, this year there will be something for fans of all ages to enjoy.
Friday night fans will see the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products sprint car and modified divisions as well as street stocks and thumpers compete in heat races and qualifying features. Immediately following the dirt track racing action, fans are encouraged to stick around for a live band with Linnaberry Wine performing as well as go pit side to visit with the drivers and see the race cars up close and personal.
Can’t make it pit side on Friday night after the races? Get to the track early in the day on Saturday as drivers will be working on their cars and lounging around giving you the opportunity to get up close and personal.
Saturday night will see a host of dash and last chance qualifying features for the NCRA sprint and modified divisions as well as a complete program for the gladiators of the NCRA late model tour. During the racing program over 100 bicycles will be given away to kid’s ages ten and under.
Championship Saturday night will come to a close with feature finales for all three divisions with the NCRA sprint division winner taking home $3000 while the NCRA modified and late model championship feature winner taking home $2000. If a sprint car driver can win the $1000 dash as well as the night’s championship feature, that driver will take home $4000 which will be the largest payout ever for the Hutchinson Grand Nationals. If any modified driver can accomplish this feat, they will take home $3000 for their sweep of the weekend.
Gates both Friday and Saturday night open at 5:00 PM with racing set for a 7:00 PM start time. General admission adult grandstand tickets both nights are $15 with kids ages 6-10 years of age $7.00 each night. You can purchase your $2.00 of adult and child general admission ticket at O’Reilly Auto Parts and Mel Hambelton Ford and redeem them at the box office.
The Kansas State Fairgrounds is located West of SR 61 on 17th Ave., then north on Poplar in Hutchinson.
