Independence NCRA Modified Victory to Franz!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – July 4, 2014 - Former tour champion Brian Franz took the lead on lap two and never looked back in claiming his second consecutive National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products modified victory Friday night as the tour made an Independence Day stop at 81 Speedway in Park City.

Dan Powers and Franz started on the front row for the thirty lap feature with Powers taking the lead as the green flag fell. His lead lasted only one lap as Franz took the lead on lap two and never looked back. The Halstad, Kansas veteran reached slower traffic at the races midway point but that didn’t detour him from going on to claim his second victory of the season and second in a row at the speedway.

Sixth starting Marc Hurd claimed second while Powers settled for third. Thirteenth starting Bill Seimers worked his way through the field to finish fourth while eleventh starting Jon Thompson rounded out the top five.

Heat races for the 27 car field were won by Franz, Powers and Justin Moler while Thompson claimed “B” feature honors.

Next appearance for the NCRA modfieids will be tonight, Saturday night July 5, at the Belleville High Banks in Belleville, Kansas.
