Racing and Fireworks This Saturday Night at Lawton Speedway!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Geary, Oklahoma – July 1, 2014 - It will be dirt track racing and fireworks this coming Saturday night at the Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Oklahoma as weekly racing action continues at the red clay, quarter mile oval. The tracks weekly divisions of championship sprint cars, USA modifieds, limited modifieds and mini stocks will be on the agenda with a gigantic fireworks show immediately following the racing action.
The 2014 race season at Lawton Speedway is at its midway point with drivers positioning themselves for the season championship.
In the champ sprint division, Joe Bob Lee is the current point leader, holding a 70 point lead over Scott Bloomquist. In the USA modified division it is Daniel Cox with a 170 point lead over Chris Cary while Larry Fletcher holds a commanding 240 point lead in the limited modified division. The mini stock division has James Norton with a 120 point lead over Kelsey Baggett.
Gates open at 6:00 PM with racing action slated for an 8:30 PM start time. As mentioned, the gigantic fireworks display will take place immediately following the final checkered flag of the evening.
General admission is just $12 for adults; ages 12-15 as well as all seniors $8; ages 6-11 $2 and kids ages 5 and under FREE.
The following are directions for drivers and fans coming from North Lawton and South Lawton:
Coming from the north: Take Interstate 44 to Lee Boulevard and go west onto Lee Boulevard to Sheridan Road. Turn south (left) and go one and a half miles to the racetrack.
If coming from the south of Lawton: Exit Highway 36 and take the Faxon exit and then go north onto Sheridan Road. Racetrack will be approx. 5 miles.
