Salina High Banks Gearing for Huge Two Day Late Model Event!

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Geary, Oklahoma – June 17, 2014 - Some of the best late model drivers in the region are set to embark at the Salina High Banks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma as the inaugural “Freedom Classic” will see the MARS DIRTcar series and Lucas Oil MLRA late model series join forces over Independence Day weekend, Friday and Saturday night, July 4-5.

The MARS DIRTcar series will be led by tour champion Tony Jackson, Jr. as well as touring regulars Justin Asplin, Jesse Stovall, Leroy Johnson, Brandon McCormick, Will Vaught, Jon Driskill and Jeff Roth.

Entering this weekend’s event in Humboldt, Kansas, Chad Simpson is the current point leader of Terry Phillips, Travis Dickes, Jeremy Payne, John Anderson, Dave Eckrich, Scott Lewis, Chris Simpson and Ryan Gustin.

All these drivers and more and expected to compete over the two day weekend atop the high-banked three-eighths mile clay oval. Friday night will pay $3000 to the winner while Saturday night’s championship event will pay $5000.   

Friday night will also see the A modifieds competing for $1000 to win while the 360 modifieds and IMCA sport mods will go head to head for a $1000 to win event. The tracks factory stock division will compete for $500 to win. On Saturday night the A modifieds will once again compete for $1000 to win with a $500 bonus to any driver who can when both Friday and Saturday night’s feature. Grand Nationals will compete for $500 to win and Pure stocks $500 to win.

The Salina High Banks Speedway, Oklahoma’s only NASCAR sanctioned track, is located nine miles east of Pryor on highway 20.
