Anyone else having issues with this forum. I have for the past month. It's to the point where it's unbearable. It takes one to two minutes to load each page. I have high speed internet and this issue only came up a month ago. I have no issues with other similar sites such as Racingone.com, Foxsports.com, Nascar.com, WOO site. These sites are up in seconds. I also have no issue pulling up the homepage to Hoseheads. It's only on the formu.

My issue is, once I click on a topic, it instantly pops up, but then I have to wait one to two minutes before I can scroll down or navigate.

Do I have something wrong w/ my settings? I really like this site and I would hate to have to move on the another board. Please help!

Mine takes awhile too, but not two minutes. I've heard of others experiencing the same problem as well.

I was having a problem about 2 weeks ago. It lasted maybe a week and I have no idea if messing around with the phishing filters or other IE settings corrected the problem or if something else did.

In my case the computer was doing a lot of heavy disk reading/writing once I clicked on a link, whether it was from the main page or into a particular thread.

I've been going thru this for over a week now and have experienced the same issues on 3 different computers and ISP's (Dial-up. broadband, and cable).

It took 1 min. & 35 secs. to open the hoseheadforum.com "Hosehead" page and received over 400k of download to do it.

Clicked on this thread and it took over 1 min. & 45 secs. to open this thread to read it and received 700k of download. The blue bar showing download status zipped to "done" at least 4 times during the download.

It takes a while for a page to load for me too - all the time about 15-20 secs. On very Hi-speed DSL here.

@ Bubzilla - is your sig an obscure Firesign Theatre reference by chance?

Download CCleaner and run it.
Here is the download link http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloading

ccleaner will clean your temp files and speed up you computer.

When I load any page on hoseheadforums it only takes about 5 sec. to load.

I'm running the slowest dsl connection (256k) using Firefox or Opera and am not having any problems. I haven't timed it but page loads can't be taking more than a few seconds.

I could understand doing the Ccleaner but it's only this page that loads slowly....hmmm. I don't have problems with any other sites.

Believe me ccleaner will make your web pages load faster. Sounds like your cache is full and it is relying on your hard drive for the cache files.

There may be some issues with the site. I read this entire thread and the status line at the bottom of the Firefox window still said "Transferring data from www.hoseheadforums.com...", the progress block didn't show complete, my pointer was still an hour glass, and Zone Alarm is showing me activity which stopped when I clicked on the Stop button at the top of the browser. I use Firefox, my registry is clean and defragmented (I use something stronger than CCleaner), I clear the cache regularly, and I just defragmented the disk a week or so ago.

I sometimes have issues like the original poster and the bottom of the browser usually says something like "waiting for burstnet.net", "downloading from doubleclick.net", etc. (non-Hosehead sites).

Thanks for refreshing my memory there Racetracker - my memory from those days can be a bit spotty... Joe's Garage was very good stuff but I always preferred Apostrophe -- a true classic LP.

Just thought I would bring this one back to the top.

I took "Big Dog's" advice and used ccleaner to analyze two laptops and a desktop that I use constantly for Internet access and the software removed 5.7 gb of "crap" from across the three computers in total.

Each of them are working beautifully now. Suggest you try it too ....

Although I had never heard of it I downloaded it too. Jury is still out though. I previously used the Accessories > Systems Tools > Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter that comes standard with all Windows applications at least once a week. So I am not sure if C-Cleaner is doing exactly the same thing?
