Longdale Speedway, Three Nights, Driver Appreciation This Weekend!

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Geary, Oklahoma – June 2, 2014 - The rescheduled Memorial Day weekend “Driver Appreciation Weekend” sponsored by Lucky Star Casino at the all new Longdale Speedway in Longdale, Oklahoma will take place this coming Friday-Sunday night, June 6-9.

Mother Nature may have won the original date for the Memorial Day weekend holiday but that hasn’t stopped track officials from making sure this three day event gets back on the schedule.

It all begins this coming Friday night, June 6th, with “practice night” for all drivers competing in modified, sport mod, stock car and pure stock divisions. Cost is $25 for car/driver; $10 for all other pit passes while fans entering the grandstands will be admitted for free. Race fans, you can also purchase your discounted advanced tickets for just $8 at Lucky Star Casino Canton from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. While you are there take advantage of your $5 free play.

Then on Saturday night it will be regular weekly racing action and purse for all drivers competing in the above mentioned divisions. For purse breakdown for each go to the tracks website www.longdalespeedway.net. Pit gates open at 4:00 PM with racing slated for a 7:00 PM start time. Pit passes are $25 with regular admission for the grandstands.

The big “driver appreciation” night will take place on Sunday night with the following feature winners in each division picking up extra money; The driver winning the night’s sport mod championship feature will earn $2000 while the modified feature winner will take home $1500. The stock car feature finale winner will earn $700 with $500 going to the pure stock feature winner. There is no entry fee and no points for Sunday nights racing action.

Sunday night gates open at 3:00 PM with 6:00 PM the start time. Adult general admission is just $10 while seniors and military $8, $5 admission for ages 6-12 and children 5 and under will be admitted free. All pit passes on Sunday night are 25.

The Longdale Speedway is a brand-new, high-speed, high-banked clay oval that boasts 22-degree straight-aways and 26 degrees of banking in the turns. Located about a half-mile south of town on Highway 58. For more track information, check out www.longdalespeedway.net or call 580-886-5375.
