Happy birthday to the King. He may not be as good as he once was, but he's as good once as he ever was. With a sprint car that is..

Happy birthday to the king!! It just feels wrong to put 60 with it!? Would have never thought he would still be turning laps at this age? WOW!

I remember the first time I met Steve. It was at Ernie DeCroce's shop in denver. He and Carl and Elrod had just rolled in from Regina, Canada. Elrod fussed with his hearing aid and said it had been a long drive. They were driving a Chevy pickup that Carl had put a V8 Cat under the hood. The trailor was an old Airstream running gear. Steve fixed my 2 year old daughter's baby buggie. She is still grateful. Carl was building a Knoxville qualifing motor with tituim Jet rods in it. He was having to grind the rod to make it clear the cam. If I remember right Steve won it all in Denver. Happy Days to you Steve.

I love this story and happy birthday to The King of sprint car racing. I seriously doubt anyone will ever duplicate his record of wins with the WoO and there would be more if you counted wins outside the WoO organization!!!
