The WoO rule is still 20 isn't it? Or did they change it as well now?

So the reason is to get the front airfoil 2 inches higher and up into cleaner air.....which should help plant the front end a little better? Is my thinking correct? If so, why? Is there a problem that this will solve? (going faster is not a problem)

Actually I think it moves the front edge of the wing 2" farther forward, which would have the effect of planting the front end (moves the center of pressure farther away from the car's center of gravity).

Is the distance measured completely horizontal, or in a diagonal? If it's diagonal, you'd both be right, because the wing can be moved either further forward or higher up, or a combination of both, to achieve the desired effect.

Seems to me it would handicap our local drivers if it is not in tollerance with WoO specs when it comes time to compete with the Outlaws or at Nationals their handling will not be the same as what they are use to.

regardless of how they measure, the goal is to put the wing in cleaner air and increase downforce to the front end....correct?
Why is this necessary? Who is lobbying for the rule change? Why be different?

From what the rule says, the current configuration they are running is OK to run, so unless your car is handling poorly and you want to try it, odds are is that most won't change anything.

I do not know a heck of alot but with 16 inch RR tires drivers have to move wing back more than normal. You then get lite on front end and car steers like it is lite on front end. I could be wrong as I know I was wrong once.

we have a meeting before the race season starts ...no rule changes is the RULE..now after 4 nights racing we are changing the wing rule that everyone in the U S is using ..just another example of how the knoxville tech guys have no respect for the racers that support them

WTF does anyone care how many inches the nose wing is from the front axle anyways is my question? Never understood how you manually slide a HUGE top wing all over the race car during a race, but during tech...you better make sure the small one is "x " amount of inches???????
do it in the dirt

Without having to look it up (yep me ignorant and lazy) == how does this compare to the WoO rulebook ... which most 410 tracks seem to follow??

I agree to a point. The only thing it seems to me that they did is open up the rule a little bit to give you some leeway. Maximum before was 20", now the max is 22". If you don't want to change, you are still within the proposed rule and don't have to.
That is unless you think it will give you an advantage, in that case I'm sure you'll make a change. If you don't think it will help your car's handling, why would you change it since you're not being forced to?

Because poeple would rather bitch first then think what the rule says. Give them more rope and they want to hang them self with it
