Some applause of Knoxville and really getting more butts in the seats on opening night. The weather was perfect and the fans showed up. It was kids night but these type of invites and interaction at the track turn kids to sprint car fans!

The sound system was 10 times better than the old speakers and the down time was minimal.

Are the concrete barriers by the push off area so they can move a wall for the Monster Truck Ralley?

The racing was great and should be week after week. There are so many drivers and teams that are strong this year it will be very interesting to see who is at the top of the ladder for the points.

Driver Notes:

Ryan Bunton still looks to be improving. I think with in a couple of years he'll win a race however I'm not sure he'll do it this year with the exceptional high level of competition this year. He had an interesting paint scheme too that I failed to make it to the pits and check out.

All the top teir drivers performed as expected with the exception of Tatnell. I thought that may of been one of his better runs in a while on the big half mile. Unless i'm forgetting a race he seemed a bit slow last year.

I felt bad for the young lady McKenna Haase. Had a nice heat win, in her first race at the track but got taken out in the feature. Looking forward to see her next week. Good to see the 305 class have 3 ladies racing?!!!

Tasker Phillips is fast but man does he go through equipment. Both him and his brother caused 4 seperate Red or Yellow flags last Saturday.

Another strong driver to add to the mix that wasn't there...Danny Lasoski. A contender if it wasn't for the TK deal.

Craig Dollansky may have the best looking car this year.

Random thoughts.... I'm sure I'll think of more to add to later.

AND my last thought...how long before Ian is on the WOO tour?

Agree, the raceway did a GREAT job of promoting opening night by having drivers/teams put on events at local schools (hopefully they do even more next year for this event).

I hope that the late night does not discourage some of those "first timers" from coming back, from the looks of how many people went to the pit area, I don't believe it did.

Hoping that they continue to be agressive in the promoting for EVERY weekly event.  Be interesting to see the crowd this weekend in comparison.

Agree on the sound system, it's been needed for many, many years (first time I've actually been able to hear the announcer over the cars in forever), but they still need to work on when they interview the sponsor of the race (didn't hear a word they said).

All classes appear to be extremely competitive.  I was impressed by how moving from 360's to 410's wasn't the huge "learning curve" it usually is for Clint Garner (17th to 8th with the level of competion was impressive).

I look for it to be extremely hard for anyone to run away with a point title this year in the 410 or 360 class (unless someone sweeps twin features night) because the caliber of cars is so high and the winner one week may finish 15th or worse the next (qualifying is gonna be extremely important).

Garner's run in the A was impressive.

Beaver looked very good. After being caught by Agan, he was able to pull away on the restart.

Nate Vanhaaften had some bad luck in his heat.

Tasker looks alot faster but still ends up wrecking.

Did Rager Phillips give up racing?
