3rd devils bowl event in a row lanny has canceled.  Beautiful facility.  unfortunately ran by a promoter with no concern for the race teams. 3rd event he has cancelled after everyone has made the tow due to potential weather problems. im surprised ASCS continues to schedule devils bowl

Utterly ridiculous. Didn't rain within a hundred miles. Very disappointed to say the least. Probably stop attending the "2 day" shows that aren't materializing. Great time Friday night, saw several drivers I'd never seen run before. Thanks to all the teams that made the pull.

yes, we wasted time & money, once again. Wonder if they will pull this crap on WoO? We are going to wichita, Ks on the 29th. I'll be hard pressed to return to devils blows.

I live 30 minutes west of the Bowl and didn't get 3 drops of rain all day, and certainly nothing after the morning hours.   I'll be out of town next weekend, so no way I can make the rescheduled 2nd day.     I don't know what their problem is, but if they don't work it out maybe I'll remove the Bowl from my schedule and do other things.

Looking at elbowsup.com, it sure looks like Kennedale Speedway Park and SuperBowl managed to get their races in.   Amazing ain't it?

At least the promoter should have the stones for telling us the real reason he cancelled.  I would be scared shitless if I was a promoter....seems like an easy way to piss away money.

I'm guessing Lanny was scared the threat of rain, along with the predicted lows in the 40's with 15-20mph winds would keep people out of the stands.  But just use that reasoning.  Not the phantom rain out.

I've been going to the bowl since before the first outlaw show, and still live no more than 45 minutes away.  I can't tell you how many races I've decided against going to over the past 5-6 years just because of the way they've run their programs.

Sorry Lanny, not buying it. And I won't be back next Saturday.  I will however be attending the races in Kilgore on Friday night.  Thus driving by the bowl and an extra hour down the road.

That's always their excuse " the haulers get stuck"  well get your heads out, put down a surface in the pits that they won't get stuck on.

Nice move ASCS, scheduled on top of the biggest NCRA race

of the year. Why not run it Friday night so teams that want to can travel to Park City?

Really no surprise.  They have been having phantom rainouts for years!  I'll be surprised to see 60% of the cars there next week as people aren't going to incur the expense to stay in town an extra week for a single night of racing.  I haven't bought tickets for the WOO races next month yet as there are nor refunds, rain or shine, even if the event is cancelled.  Not about to layout almost $300 for a pair of multi-night seats only to have someone keep it in the event of a "rainout".

I would say screw DB and ASCS and go run the NCRA show if you are not running for points. Let them put on a show with 15 cars next weekend.

Two nights of hotel booked and couldn't get my money back for night two. Made my last trip to devils bowl. That was pure bull shit. Glad the WoO race isn't a devils bowl race but rather an SLS show. Maybe they won't have a phantom rain out. I hope not since I have tickets and hotel booked.
